ive been noticing the people hitting jumps are getting younger and younger. could this be a sign...that tricks really are for kids?

yeah i agree but some kids hit jumps too young and they absolutely cannot come near to clearing them and it pisses me off

I think Smuggs was just referring to the general drop in age for riders in the park, and kids who don't necessary ski park for freestyle, just to get air and land in the middle of the jump. You see a lot of those kids now, and a lot of young riders that rip as well.

but thats 12 is the youngest i have ever seen in a park besides those little fucks who can't even ski who just ccome in cuz they think its cool

i ski with my family and bring tehm into the park, usually to film,my little bro is 10, im trying to get him to ski park and get good and not start when he's older(like 17) like me, he hits most small and mid tables well, but i have noticed a lot of that recently

i know 13 yr olds that can d9, cork 9, 270 on and out of rails, all the shit i can do but 5 years younger. It sucks

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.
 
i don't really give a shit but i would like to see what is up down at the gap hit behind whistler bowl. there was a sweet helicopter down there today. star treatment.

 
Kids can learn better.

I just took my CSCF1 (so you know I know what the fuck I'm talking about) and in racing they get kids cross training as early as possible because kids learn balence and co-ordination best before the age of ten.

So it turns out you really can't teach old dogs new tricks.

it depends, ^ depending on how naiive the little kid was to the idea of injury, but besides that i think teens on up learn better

age isnt the real issues, its the fools who dont learn how to hit a big table b4 tryin and that what causes the problems, thing is its usually the 12-11-10 year olds that happen to be the ones that cause the problems....

oh and they should be banned from parks unless they show some semblance of ability to ride them... it's always the little kiddos who shouldn't have even been there who break their necks and fuck the rest of us over... a kid broke his neck at our old park and BAM no more parks to this day, (5 years later)

what really pisses me off tho is when fuckers go in and suck so they can't even get up the jump and they block it well they try to get down or when little kids fall on the on tables rite infront of the kicker so you can't see them and then u only see them when yur flying over there fucking head

I think everyone has the right to hit the park.I started this year,and i don't care what people were thinking of me,at least i learned some cool tricks i couldn't even dream of last year.In fact,i didn't even have twin tips before this year.So what?Am i looser?I'm not good,I can't spin a 7 yet,but I learned to spin smooth 3's and landed 5's off some sweet tables.I didn't care if they laughed at me.I'm just out there for the sole purpose of enjoying skiing with my friends.And if i don't have the skill yet,i'm not in a hurry,i have like 20 years to learn a 1080.

It's definetely not cool to make fun of other people tho.And if they say they can spin 7 but really can't it doesn't matter,no harassment necesary,each one at his own.

I am newer to newschool than most people in here,but i got to love it,and that's why i'm here.

what i hate the most is when instrtuctors take their lessons into the park and when the racers come in. like we arent allowed in their race course so why should they be allowed into our park. i have seen a kid that was too young hit a jump and it was a bigger jump of the too and didnt even come close and he wasnt able to move either of his legs
