there was a few of us today(me, lokash, tyler, schwags, casey, talking about tricks and their names, and how stupid they are. the first was the indy grab. indy is a skate/snowboard grab. its just a safety, but your hand is moved 2 inches, so we figur it should just be called safety. and the indy nosebone...its really a rocket. oh, and the sister grab...hahaha, just another safety. then there was the frontside and backside cork...skiing dont have no frontside or backside...we have cork and bio. we just found some of this stuff to be ridiculous...go ahead and make me feel stupid now

I agree on the grabs, but I think backside and frontside were actually coined a while ago, and they just are used as a matter of convenience; but you're right, there really is no true frontside or backside.

did you know that doable isn't even a word? they made it up in the business world one day and it eventually found it's way into the english language... and the canadian way of spelling tire is tyre... but the store Canadian Tire isn't spelt that way... how very very interesting.

labels should only go as far as separating something from everything else in most general way possible - who really cares if a dude did a really corked 720 or d-spin? cant' you just be happy with an off-axis 720? and as for labels for types of skiers - who cares if a dude is a mogul skier, or racer, or park skier, or big mountain skier, or heaven forbid - a racer with 1080's (oh dear god no!!! racers can't have 1080's, they're not cool enough to... how dare they).

I should just quit skiing and go into a sport that isn't full of a bunch of spoiled whinny rich kids who care more about what jacket and goggles a dude has than having fun skiing for themselves... I mean who the FUCK cares?

skiing and skiers need a serious ass kicking to smarten up and stop acting like they own the hill and the world - (i'm saying this as a generality - there are some cool skiers out there... even a few on this site, but there are also a lot of tools on this site)

Keep it Real man, it was kinda harsh but ya got it out..I am also sick and tired of people being like...That guy sucks, he is a loser..I mean there just starting out...hell give them God damn tips if you thingk your so good... I know i would love for a amazing skier, to push me and give me some tips to help my stomp my 540 tail.

People can't progress and have fun if peolpe bash them all time. Don;t ruin it for others.

Either that or we move the hymalayas and start our own scene. totally undergroud sherpa comps... we'd be competing for mountain goats but we'd be goat rich... think of it. instead of giving tips to waiters we'd give them a mountain goat. I don't know... maybe two.... depending on how much the loonie is worth... we'll work out the details later...

there's no frontside/backside cork, there's bio, or cork, and you can do both of those regular, or offside (the way you usually dont spin) i've also heard them called uphill and downhill corks, but the downhill one is a bio, and uphill is cork...so you're not stupid...everyone else is

I agree we shouldn't dwell on what a trick is called but it pisses me off when some trys to say the name of a trick is wrong. Simplifying trick names would end this. But I totally agree, I just want to ski and to progress. Not having people telling me you landed a fs cork 9 , no he landed a bio 9.
