trick names

where did some of the grab names come from? i don't mean toxic, I'm talking things like mute, safety, and japan. I know they probably came from other sports, but eventually if you go back to skateboarding or something the name had to be invented by someone. anyone know?

i really dont see how our tricks could come from skateboarding or snowboarding, a mute grab on skis looks nothing like a mute on either one. a rodeo on a snowboard is a lot differnt from a rodeo on skis, from what ive seen.

 
rodeos dont look the same but its sort of the same motion that they do. They roll over their shoulder.

exactly. not all tricks with the same name are the same..but look at like a tail grab, or a flip variation.

but then again, who calls it a tail grab on skis...

that's really not what i meant. I know the names came from other sports, but how did those sports get the name in the first place? i mean why call a mute grab 'mute', whether it's skiing, inline, or skateboarding?

Here we go. All the grab names came from skateboarding. Someone launched out of an empty swimming pool in California wearing short, vertically striped shorts and a size XXXS t-shirt, grabbed his 1 directional board and proclaimed, 'THAT is a mute grab!'

 
lol that is amazing, i dont anyone is awareof where they came from, maybe try an inline sites forum or something like that
