yo, this is a tech question so if you got any advice i'd love to hear it. i need to get a tri pod for my GL2, my shits all wobbly. The dude at the camera shop (a very legit store specialized for professionals), said i need heavy tri pod legs, which are gonna run me like 200 in the least. then i have to buy the swivel head - 150. and neither of these are close to top quality. is there anything i can do to shave some of the cost off? help please. i don't wanna drop almost 400 on a fucking tripod.

The big difference between an expensive tripod and a cheap one is that it's a lot more stable and durable. Get one as expensive as you can afford - it's worth it. A good head is definately worth buying though.

A £50 - 100 one will be fine for what you're looking for probably. I've used my GL1 on a really cheap one a few times and it's been fine.

no way dude, just get one from walmart. Because you're gona be fucking that shit up anyway and breaking it. Then you can just return it and be like 'defective merch' A more expensive tripod isn't gona make you a better filmer.

Umm... mine cost me $60 and it works fine. For weight, just get something to weigh it down or something, and for the head, you just need to set it up right. There are some things that definetly piss me off about my tripod though, like, if I move it left the head loosens off and that pisses me off like mad.

i dont even use a tripod. a 20-50$ tripod is worthless no matter what anyone tells you. if you want smooth and stead shoots you need a nice fluid head. you get what you pay for in a tripod and unfortunetely they are fuckin expensive.

when i shoot sequences i just use my hands. if im shooting something at night where i have a .5second-15 second shutter speed i just use my cheap collaspable tripod does the trick for me
