Labour Dispute at Mont Tremblant Resort: CSN Union endangers Tremblant Holiday Season Activities

MONT-TREMBLANT, Dec. 17 /CNW Telbec/ -

Mont Tremblant Resort deplores the

CSN Union decision to launch an unlimited general strike on the eve of the

Christmas-New Year break.

The economic impact of this decision is catastrophic for the entire

community of the Tremblay region, which will suffer from this action, coming

as it does at one of the busiest periods of the year. Additionally, it will

negatively affect the station's guests who are liable to opt for other

destinations.

and yes, they spelt tremblant wrong

They plan to resolve this by december 25th. hopefully they do because im headin up right after new years.

I guess they reopened sunday with limited workers

I'm going up today for a few days, I got a season place + we're stayin at my friends condo, so worse comes to worse we hike the park all day and party hard at night

FUCK the unions... especially the CSN here in Quebec. They've been planning this, and are hoping that Tremblant will give them whatever they want just not to lose the Christmas period.

But there's no real risk for Tremblant being closed, seen as there was MASSIVE money invested there. Just maybe less new stuff (like rails...).

I was there a few days ago when this all started, Ive got lots of good video which I will post soon. Im in montreal now and the CSN workers are always striking out in front of the hospital. I think they organised an 80,000 person one day strike for all public workers in montreal a week or two ago. What I don't get is what public sector employees in montreal are doing in the same union as intrawest employees in tremblant.

they said if a agreement isnt reached by wednesday, chances are its going to be a very bad holiday season for tremblant, people have already started cancelling reservations.

they put an offer on the table yesterday, but i don't think the workers are going to take it.

on the website, and in emails, they have been asking people not to show up just so that they don't get pissed off, but the gondola and some chairs are still running.

There are two unions in Quebec (CSN and FTQ ) that represent practically all the unionised workers here. And that is a lot, since 40% of the population is. Plus the CSN, Tremblant's employees' union, is a bunch of ravenous communists that want nothing more than hugely overblown salaries for their members.

They won't back out all that easily, unless Tremblant decides to not give in to try to save the Christmas holiday. Those bastards could really hurt Tremblant.
