Tree Runs

good question. Im going to Smugglers notch for the first time this weekend. praying some glades are open.
 
yea smuggs sucked for me this weekend.

so overpriced, so many families/kids, all lifts i saw were 2 person and slow as hell. and yea no tree runs open. And i drove 7hrs to get there

 
realllly? i just checked their website and it says only 13 trails open with no glades open.

i sure hope thats a typo. if there are no glades im gonna be upset

Ok yes but two weeks ago about 12 glades were open and like 60 trails I think the trail count is low because lifts are shut down due to snowmaking
 
Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna hit up Jay Peak this weekend. I loved smuggs when I went in my youth but no high speed lifts is kinda a deal breaker for me.

the snow pack around stowe and smuggs hasn't allowed glades to "open". They've been skied on a handful of days but this weather hasn't allowed for a snow pack to make them safe. It seems like every time we get close mother nature kicks us in the nuts and is happening again. Too bad because last weekend there were some great turns on north facing stuff.

is southern VT any better? The storms seem to have been sliding that way
 
jesus, i just read a article on OpenSnow.com that said a lot of VT resorts might lose MOST of their snow in the next week or so.

im gonna cry if i spent the money on the trip and gonna be sitting at jay peak for 5 days without being able to ski.

 
Jesus won't help ya man but you should be fine by the 17th. Some rain won't destroy the base so there will be plenty to shred..however, can't speak for the woods, Just gotta be patient.

My only time skiing Jay was 6 years ago in January and the 2 days I went the highs were in the 40's/50's with passing rain. 2 feet at the least in the woods but it was hella fun and a bummer at the same time.
 
haha cool thanks man. Ill make the best of it. Hopefully worst comes to worst the parks will still be open.

I know January is always hit or miss but it was the only time we could get the group of us together.
 
yeaaa man i used up my triple play card already lol. Creek is sick right now, the jumps are awesome right? whole setup there is legit.

we never been to Jay so we booked the trip awhile ago.
 
fucking mcfuck-stick, anyone know how killy is doing in the trees??

saw about the same, calling for some mediocre snow showers next week, i'm headin up thursday night
