no, they didn't do either of these tricks. the aforementioned are skier terms/tricks. point here, stop using the term CAB to describe your switch tricks....the term doesn't apply to skiing, EVER!
I honestly don't care. I don't get hot a 3 letter word and get people so worked up. I know the whole history of the word "cab" and how it physically can't work for skiing, but when someone says it, I know that they mean switch, so it's ok.
you, my son, are a big ball of useless jargon. "so...ignoring the fact that we would need to pop off our tails...our switch tricks could be CAB"...you just don't get it, seriously. i would like to see you explain your theories to Steve Cabellero. wear a mouth gard, he might punch you in the face for being so rediculous.
but, let's be reasonable everyone, words only have meanings because people give them meanings. and everyone knows what it means. just deal with it. find something worthy of a logical argument or something. this is so typical and dumb. go skiing.
well i guess skiing is going back to its roots as being overly technical and uptight.. when did people start careing so much what was a pretzle and what was cab. i c must be outta the loop
so since snowboarders do 270s, that means skiers don't. who cares? get the fuck over it. and technically yes, you're wrong. you can't go switch on skis.
you should chill. its not all about terminology or a claim to the rights to that terminology. its about a brotherhood of folks who love to push thier limits in the moutinains or a park or a pipe somewhere on snow anywhere we can. i doubt cabellero would be dissapointed the way that todays hihg level riders are representin and in someway he is in the coversation everytime they do something amazing. skiing, snowboarding whatever its about having fun and exploring. not competing about the word used to describe a particular trick or style.
I would like to bet you large sums of money that steve caballero wouldn't be such an uptight prick about it and would probably not resort to violence over a matter as insignificant as this
Agreed. Bury the hatchet. We all know what it means, this thread isn't going to revolutionize park skiing vocabulary, or even sway a single person so speak differently. Shut up you all.
well the way i learned from rollerblading whitch is more like skiing than any sport where you have 1 board is that switch means unnatural and fakie means backwards and cab is used to describe a spin that started going backwards. having met steve cabellero i'm pretty sure he would be happy that other sports have felt a conection with his enough so that they would use his name for thier tricks. he is a really nice guy btw.
everytime somebody says tanner hall did something besides a switch/fakie/cab 9 over chads gap i throw up! way to be a retard....
and who cares, its just words nobody really cares. im sure some people actually do rodeos when doing corks and call it a cork and no one fucking cares. go cry somewhere else.
i dont mind it being called d spin or kang flip. as long as skiers are known to do it first, same as people know SKATEBOARDING came up with cab first, its ok. no need to wet yourself over it.
