Travis heed footy

word.

Might seem kinda far fetched until you think of how nuts his butters on and off (note the OFF portion of that thought) still seem. That's some way creative thinking in terms of rail-riding and like everyone's been saying, way ahead of its time.

IMO Tanner is on that kind of plan, and Frank Raymond is that dude in terms of urban as far as I'm concerned. The T-Walls and Henriks and Brogans and that whole Spotlight Project crew is nice with the tech shit, but that's just one part of skiing. I think you'll see it become more of a niche deal in our sport pretty soon here.

My biggest argument for that is that I've never seen an edit where they do tricks specific to the rail like Raymond, Vanular, Hall, and Heed do; it's always just a progression of spins on and off. Sick, but maybe not the real point of sliding rails. With guys like Raymond, you can definitely tell that they took some kind of aesthetic considerations when they chose what kind of trick to hit it up with. Check out Pollard in Stereotype - its the same mindset he brings to big mountain that we all praise him for, just on urbans.

This is Heed thing is a smaller part of the bigger argument we've been having for years about the 'spin to win' deal. Sometimes a switch lipslide is harder than 270 on (providing they're spinning the 'easy' way on that, don't get my point twisted here). My favorite rail trick this year was Clarke's sw on the hard way to pretzel out. That had only 360 degrees of total rotation but oozed with style and was tech as fuck. Heed can do that type of shit, and seems more cognizant of it. That's all I'm saying.

And I'm saying that I am STOKED that he signed with 9thward.

yo is the haystack kink the one at the very end where he steps on it and has no movement to the end or is that at Sunday river.

and is there anyway you can put the real version of t-heed's part from wicked up. the one on youtube says its not the one from the movie and i dont know where to get wicked or if anyone has copies anymore.

can someobdy post the vid thats an impersonator of him where the kid jumps up and down on the rail and stuff? That video gets me every time

to the kid taping that video, surprised heed didn't rip your head off. you probably sum up everything he hates about ns. and who cares if he straight aired. what does have to prove?

Wait...what? So if you don't like a segment as much as you did a few years ago, that segment becomes "still years ahead of skiing"...? I don't think numerous shots of simply grinding a park rail, plus 90% of a segment coming from weak park rails, plus landing a perfect 90 degrees short sometimes (SO SICK), plus many tricks we've seen a thousand times over, make that segment still ahead of anything. Those butters were weak. Adam Delorme's butter onto the urban-style dfd rail with a switchup from the Spotlight Project was just better all around than any of Heed's: smoother butter, way sicker rail, even more steeze I might say. In fact the butter out, which wasn't that amazing, was pretty much the only trick I haven't seen done better on a more legit feature by someone who also doesn't suck dick at jumps.

Props to Heed for doing it before anyone else, but he's no messiah.

Anyone else think his style is really forced? He doesn't look relaxed, he looks like hes trying super hard to stay in that one spot. I'm not saying hes not good, im just saying it looks really forced. He is a great skier, and I realize that clip is pretty old, just pointing something out

A little, but not completely. plus some of his comp footage when he wasn't just sking for the cam was sick too, so I think he's just a good skier in general.

Wait...what? You're comparing a butter from 2001 to one from 2007? In the past six years a lot of shit has gone down and the sport has blown the fuck up so it's pretty unfair to compare the two.

Travis is sick at skiing, is super chill, and just does what he wants. I haven't seen him ski in a few years but I hope he comes back onto the scene, he kills it with little to no effort (or at least makes it look effortless).

yea i didnt know that that was from 4 years ago. he looks pretty steezy, but the video still doesnt impress me. i mean, he lands sideways on the snow on some of those tricks. im sure it was super sick from 4 years ago, but im still not impressed because when somebody says "heed is so dope" and then somebody posts a video from 4 years ago, none of that stuff is great anymore. maybe i just need to see recent footy, but i still dont think he is all that great as of todays standards

the kid doesnt give a fuck about about this shit, he just got signed to 9thward for a reason..but i see what u are all talkin that by todays "standards" hes not tech or whatever but who gives a shit he does stuf way better looking then another lame ass pretzel n i wouldnt just be givin him respect if it was earned but how are u even gonna try to knock someone for some shit they put out mad long ago

style, not 270s.

look at other movies the same year, or even other skiers in the same movie. it's just not the same.

Meh, maybe but still, his best trick was what switch 270 on 270 out? Seriously, i hope he can atleast do jumps now hes on ninth? probably not.

lol, I was gunna say the same thing, and Im pretty sick of seeing that freaking cd player, get a damn iPod. But seriously, I think that Heed is a good skier, but Id much rather see a steezy pretzel, or even a steezy 270 out than a 90 on 90 off oozing with steeze. Thats just my personal opinion though, because in the long run, it really doesnt matter whether or not Heed is better than Wallisch or any of those guys.
