So im going up to Whistler next week and people are telling me to carry on my boots onto the plane. . i understand the concept, they lose my boots and im screwed. just wondering what you guys think.

personally i think it is kind of unnecessary, if they lose your boots chances are you will lose everything else with it. but is is better to be safe than sorry

I've checked my boots along with my skis and it was fine, but they didn't lose any of my luggage. I duno what to tell ya; it's a risk, but as much as any other piece of luggage. So if they lose your skis, you'd be outa luck too.

if they lose my skis id just demo a pair. how do you carry them on? just by themselves or do you throw em in a bag?

always carry your boots on if you are particular about the boots you ride in. i flew to salt lake last year and the airline lost my boots. I had my skis but no boots and demo boots just suck. any boots but the ones you ride in everyday just suck. so ya carry them on, loose over your shoulder works or in a boot bag.
