I know most of you on here hate electronic music, but I know there are some trance fans out there. I think trance can be some of the most beautiful music out there if you find that right tracks. Uplifting, goa, progressive, hard, whatever style I just want to hear some new tunes.

myself and 1337 are big fans.

are you just looking for new artists? name some people you like, give us some help... above&beyond....armin van buuren....tiesto's old stuff.....gabriel and dresden.....cosmic gate.....some more well known ones there

I know you and 1337 are into it, I was hoping one of you would reply. And yeah I spend like almost all my time searching for new music, so I'm looking for some deeper lesser-known tracks. Out of your list I really like Above and Beyond's stuff back from like before 2009, like with Tri-State and OceanLab. Gabriel and Dresden and Cosmic Gate are other favorites, as well as Mat Zo and other anjunabeats producers like old Sunny Lax and Nitrous Oxide. Chicane and Andy Blueman are other favorites. I like all types of electronic music but right now I'm looking for trance. I hope that list gives you a fair idea of what I'm into, I guess right now I'm looking for more uplifting stuff. But I really dig all sounds so don't hesitate to show anything you think is good.

certainly not true. and there are already threads on this where you can go and join in an already extensive conversation

this ones good, https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/704903/

theres a better but i dont remember the name

Shit thanks for that man! Sick mixes in there, good variety with Major Lazer and A&B, two of my favorites. But as far as trance, two other favorites are Arty and Paul Van Dyk. So many others, but don't want to write a book.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, solar fields is some next level shit though. His entire album Random Friday is more or less perfect IMO, highly recommended. If anyone knows of some similar stuff please hook it up!

Dude. Thank You!!! That was fucking sick. You don't often find that kind of stuff coming out in recent times. Speaking of that, anybody interested should check out Mat Zo's new album Damage Control. Such diversity and every track is unique. Also here's another recent song that's pretty popular and a little housey but fucking beautiful.

Also yeah thanks for those. Lost and that Find Yourself remix I've always loved, and I'll definitely check out Cerf, Mistika and Jaren. Never heard of them. Also if you like Ferry Corsten and Oceanlab check out his Remix of Clear Blue Water if you don't already know it. Good stuff.

http://thedancemusicguide.com/ check this out, this is helping me learn my way through trance

also check out r/trance on reddit, always new content posted there and some great threads about some classics and must have mixes

right now my favorite trance mix is Paul Oakenfold 1994 Goa Mix

i just found out about a psytrance community in my city that does monthly events, really stoked to check them out.

also, its kind of a bummer that artists who got huge off trance have made the switch to progressive/electro house. i get that its the popular thing right now but cmon, tiesto or w&w totally guilty. even a&b, arty, markus schulz play a lot of housy stuff now. anyways, im on a trancemission to go deeper and older to find more real trance

I love trance, gareth emery is one of my favorites.

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

Also big into Eric Prydz, Audien, marcus schulz.

I never got trance as a genre until i saw it live. I've seen all these Djs and i think im seeing above and beyond on new years, i'm stoked.

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

also i know that isn't the purest form of trance but ive been feeling it

You have such a pretentious and douchebaggy attitude. OP wants suggestions, and since I wasn't aware how much he knew about trance, I gave him easy to find, easy to listen to, easy to like, "mainstream" trance artists.

Fuck off

I always recommend this to everyone...

Above and Beyond: Group Therapy Radio, its the sickest trance podcast ive ever listened to.

I like listening to it on the mountain because each cast is about 2 hours long.

You can find it on itunes and then transfer it to your phone or ipod or whatever the hell you use.

like half the people you posted haven't played a trance song in 3+ years, trouse ≠ trance

no you sir can kindly fuck off, YOU are the kind of person killing real trance

Massive trance fan here. I cba listing all my favourite artists but A & B will always be my #1. Just incredible.

If you want to find some new trance songs listen to Above & Beyond Group Therapy Radio Podcasts as this guy has said ^ 2 hours of excellent contemporary trance with a wide array of artists. http://www.aboveandbeyond.nu/radio

ABOVE & BEYOND DO NOT PLAY TRANCE ANYMORE AND ONLY PLAY PROGRESSIVE HOUSE/TROUSE. For fuck sake learn what REAL trance is, nothing you listen to is trance, the group therapy album while great does not have a single trance song on it

this is trance

this is not

your posts are so elitist and you're such a prick about everything. this isn't the first time, or even the second that I've seen something posted that's extremely douchey and realized it was a post from you again.

go make your own thread and debate your specific meaning of a genre of music with somebody else. OP asked for new music that was along the same lines of what he was listening to already. I highly doubt he's going to see Gareth Emery's name in my list and go, "Nope no way will i listen to that, that's not "pure" and "real" trance". Who gives a fuck. I don't come in and insult your musical choices or debate with you what your calling trance and "trouse". God you're so fucking cool because you listen to your own end-all-be-all definition of "real" trance

yeah this needs to be repeated. dont get me wrong i like me some group therapy but that stuff is not trance, i dont get how people mistake the two.

another link for the ophttp://researchinthesurf.wordpress.com/ this guy does some super in depth reviews of some of the main trance compilation albums

I like you, and I have no problem with you at all. Being an elitist asshole about your music, no matter what genre of electronic you're being elitist about, goes against everything that the electronic music culture tries to encourage though. Not saying you are being that way, I just think it's something to think about

Chill out man.

I think I worded my post incorrectly cause you seem to think I explicitly listen to progressive stuff. That's actually not true I still really enjoy listening to the more traditional trance as well( e.g. dash berlin, AVB, Chicane etc). Maybe I've embraced the new wave trance more than you though, I know it's shit when an entire genre you loved is uprooted and transformed but if it didn't change then the industry would go stale and die. Progressive trance is a subgenre of TRANCE whether you like it or not. OP was not asking exclusively for trad trance...

At least we can both agree that the OceanLab project was the fucking titties.

I agree with you pretty much 100% on everything there. It's fucking difficult to find anyone producing real trance not trouse since like 2010. Arty, Armin, Gareth, A&B, Ferry Corsten, and pretty much anyone else has gone prog house on us. Not to say house can't be good, but I would rather hear A&B play Satellite than Black Room Boy.. Like that other guy said below, there are a few still on it, like Solarstone, Aly and Fila, and I would say Mat Zo as well. He may not be producing as much trance but he's more creative than ever, and he knows what he's doing.

That Goa mix is fucking sick. I'm listening to it right now. I've been on the same mission as you for a while now too brother, that's why I made this thread. Check out Chicane's old stuff if you don't know it. Saltwater and Offshore are fucking beautiful but you probably already know them.

Bumping this with this incredible song. One of my favorites that has come out in the past couple years.

Laf @ the OMG DAT ISNT TRANCE.

For a weekly dose, try to grab the radio shows. Armin Van Buuren - State of Trance, Above & Beyond - Group Therapy, Aly & Fila Future Sound of Egypt, Ferry Corsten - Corstens Countdown, Ori Uplift - Uplifting Only, Inspiron - Trance Philosophy

all pretty easy to grab on TPB, good 1-2 hour mixes with all kinds of songs and artists to follow.

26.5k songs & 355 GB (no not claiming) but I have too gd much to really start naming individual artists. I always find new stuff through above said radio shows.

I'm still glad I got to see Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Matt Darey, and of course, Armin Van Buuren before his US stops got wasted on stuff like EDM & Ultra , surrounded by house, dub, etc (tho those music fests can be fun) Also got to see Deadmau5 there when he was still up and coming.(not trance I know, but suckfest9001 is fun) This was @ Beta Nightclub in Denver, that is before it too succumbed to the electronic pop music of house, dub, etc. R.I.P. Beta, went from the #1 club to #shit.

I'm no purist, I like every genre or electronic. Deadmau5 is a genius. Also Trance Around the World was fantastic, not as much a fan for Group Therapy.

Bumping this for mas trance. It's a wonderful feeling finding a new great song, and it's interesting to hear what you guys like.

Triple post. Go fuck yourself.

The whole Swordfish soundtrack is great too. As is the movie for that matter.
