Trampoline skis?

I've been wanting to make some skis for the trampoline for a long time now. i know that tramp boards are out there, but has anyone ever made or used trampoline skis? what were they made of? i was thinking of some kind of foam that holds its shape well but isn't rock hard or brittle. also, thinking of velcro "bindings".

any thoughts/suggestions on how to make some and what to use?

Make sure to cover/take out the edges I have heard of people damaging their trampolines

We used to duct tape the shit out of the edges of old skis. Doesn't last forever and ya gotta keep an eye on it. Even a dull edge can rip through a tramp. It's also a pain in the ass to make those bases ski ready again so I'd def use an old pair.

that is actually a really good idea, i was gunna sculp 2x4's and then drill a shit set of bindings on them, but that might have to suffice for the time being!

I used old sneakers taped to cardboard with bamboo stringers inside, then wrapped the fuck up in duct tape. Worked pretty well, except the shoes made you cheat on grabs. You could use old ski boots.

lots of responses! thats what i like to see. karma has been given.

i am not looking to use actual skis here. mostly because i don't have any old pairs. and i have tried pool noodles, they just didn't work well for me. i think the cardboard/duct tape seems to be the way to go. does anyone know how easily they break though? i'm worried they will bend if i don't land. bending back wouldn't be hard though.

At woodward at copper they have a tramp board cut in half and the "bindings" moved like skis. They work well. IMO it makes more sense to just not use them but these work well.

sounds pretty good, but i don't have any old skis. also worried about damaging the trampoline.

i happen to have some old moon shoes (these plastic things with rubber bands. you velcro your feet in and you're supposed to jump high) from when i was younger. i want to take off the plastic part where you put your foot and attach it to some trampoline board-like foam material. then they could slip on and off easily and be able to change sizes. anyone know where i can find some of this foam without buying an actual tramp board?

this. hollow them out under foot so its a flat landing spot and cut slits, and thread velcrow through. not going to be heavy but at least u have the fealing

Glad i saw this thread. The other day my friend made some. He used plywood, like half inch i think, a few layers of cardboard on top and bottom, then used a TON of duct tape. Then he duct taped some shoes to them. They were like 4 feet and super fun. But , we snapped the plywood doing flips. Im going to make another pair with cedar, the colorful foam under carpet, more duct tape, and high top shoes for a boot like feel. Dont make them too long or too heavy. We tried only cardboard and duct tape and that fell apart. Just invest like 50 bucks and have a ton of fun all summer. Inb4 didnt read

Pool noodles plus that ~1" black plastic water pipe stuff to make them kinda rigid. Duct-tape shoes on, or gumboots for added ski-booty-ness.

I made some tramp skis out of pool noodles that I cut holes in for my feet.

My advice: if you have poolnoodles, go for it. If you don't, tramp skis are fun for a bout a day and then they just lose their appeal.
