Tramp progression

During the summer I have twice a week trampoline sessions at a gymnastics facility and recently I have been struggling with my imagination about what new tricks I should try.

I can already do spins up to 720 both ways with some grabs, cork 7s, frontflip, backflip layout, double backflip if I feel like trying it, flatspin 3 and 5 with some grabs, lincoln loops both ways, switch rodeo 5 both ways. Recently I have been trying some double cork 10s and 12s in the foam pit and sometimes i land them satisfyingly good but I still feel disorientated in the air and I just have to trust my muscle memory while being in the air. Also I have been trying to practise my balance on a beam doing different swap variations, 2 ons, etc because there is no chance for me to build a summer rail setup.

So I'm wondering what would you recommend me to try and learn on the trampoline that would be really helpful? I've been thinking about some cat twists and unnatural cork 7, unnatural flatspin and maybe some misties. Any other thoughts?

how can you do switch rodeo on a trampoline? :)

anyway, you shoud definitely learn misties, they are pretty easy. Also IMO from all off-axis doubles, double misty 9 is the easiest one - you just initiate it and grab some safety all the way, that's basically all.

Switch on a tramp is just a 180-bounce-trick OP should do front and back fulls

I actually have a question, how do you do flatspins and rodeos on trampolines. Also do a dub misty

I was sure someone would ask that and I agree it sounds kinda absurd, but I just keep looking over my shoulder like if I'm going switch while preparing for the jump. Jumping on the trampoline while looking over my shoulder with staggered feet feels different than normal looking straight ahead jumping so I thought this would be a good idea to get comfortable with. :)

how do you do flatspins

Imagine like you're standing then someone catches you off guard and pushes your shoulder back. I imagine the same thing when going for a flatspin. Just drop one of your shoulders, commit and you should be doing it in no time. When doing that, personally for me, a japan grab comes really natural to do because I'm already kinda tucked to the side. I hope this helps, if not - I might try to do some more explaining. :)

when i learned flatspins on tramp i kinda did the opposite, i pushed one shoulder forward. dropping one shoulder always put me into a rodeo but pushing forward with one gets you flat af

That's how I used to do mistys

Codys and kabooms are fun even if they have little relation to skiing. Spins off your back are also fun.

Dub cork 10s were the peak of my trampoline progression. Super fun and satisfying.

Nowadays I just skateboard if I want to improve my skiing skills in the summer. Once you learn the basics, it's just as fun as skiing.

How does skateboarding improve your skiing skills? I've heard that blading can improve your skiing in the park, but not skateboarding. Just asking out of curiousity. :)

Otherwise, I'm trying to go wakeboarding and mountain biking during summer. I need something to keep my blood flowing at a high pace. I'm still wondering whether I should get a BMX or a downhill bike for the next summer. BMX isn't that depending about you having to pickup a ride and go to the mountains to go riding down the trails, you can just cruise around the city after work doing some street tricks, but on the other hand with mountain biking you're in the mountain, shredding hard and fast some trails, doing big jumps and drops. Tough call.. :)

Skateboarding is all about balance, timing, and commitment. You have to chose lines and act fast. It feels very similar to skiing. A large amount of pro skiers are real big into skateboarding. I'd argue that more pro skiers skate rather than blade. And if you've noticed recent style/trick trends in skiing have a heavy skate influence.
