Tramp Practice//Summer

When you practice on a tramp, what do you use? Just shoes, or are we talking about like, skies everything?

Also, in the summer if I wanna make a rail, what can I put on the ground (grass), so I speed up toward the rail?

I usually took my shoes off, just to make my tramp last longer...A cool idea I used to use to practice grabs was to make like snowlerblade card board skis, duct-tape them up so you get them nice and firm, then put velcrow straps on them so you can practice you grabs in your tricks...

Oh, sorry, I didn't finish...they would velcrow to your socks...and it works awesome, trust me...

As far as summer rails, I used stacked up Pallets with carpet on top...then you put soapy water on the carpet and voila..

For trampoline training, you should just use your feet most of the time. GO to a gymnastics place and use olympic trampolines....they will make you go much much higher and it is a lot more fun. If you want to practice with skis on, you need to flatten the edges, and put carpet on the base. Without the carpet, you will slip really easy and hurt yourself. Make sure they are old skis, bc doing this will ruin them.

I would NOT advise practicing on a tramp with your skis on...too many things can go wrong and it's just as good without them.

I actually have plenty of crappy skies I could use. But, for cardboard skies, I'm kind of confused, how are they not breaking after you land on them? Or at least bending/cracking everywhere?

duct-tape son! the solution to most problems! I actually used a Clear shipping tape and some plastic strips underneath the cardboard to keep it stiff..

a good drop-in is fake grass (like the kind they use at the min-golf course) throw some Soap on it and u will get tons of speed.

Will the soap mess you up on your rail?

Is summer skiing any sort of good practice for winter? I really wanna improve my skiing/grinding, will it help me out in the winter, or will the feel just be totaly different? (For whatever reasons.??)

yeah I learn all my tricks off bridges or cliffs, it adds more to your air awareness when you are scared shit less.

Don't used anything you have to wear ski boots with though when your onthe tramp, you can hardly jump because3you can't use your ankles.

no its just the way you come up to the rail that is diff but the balance is all the same. but be carefull because the soap is going to make you slide like shiat.

you can use your skis on trampolines. I've done it heaps. It is hard, and a lot of work. If you are not on a olympis, rectangle trampoline, it does not work real well though. It halps so much with tricks, practicing with your skis on. If you can do it with skis on the tramp, you can do it on the snow...it is exactly the same thing. you just need to be very careful when attempting this, because jumping off balence or falling can really hurt.

Really, I throw almost every trick I do the exact same as on a tramp...Now, of course you have to caculate as to how steep the takeoff and landing is, etc, but you shouldn't even be worrying about that right now...If you can do it on a tramp and you take it to snow, you have a great chance of landing your first time...

yeah it tried some old small skis a year ago taped them down so the edges wouldnt cut the tramp but the back tail of one ski cut the tramp after jumping high, i would NOT recommend skis on a tramp, the cardboard would be a good idea thgough
