Tramp in Melbourne

Hey Melb NS'ers

I've started casual gymnastics at a centre in Donvale, Monday and Thursday nights. Awesome facility and relaxed atmosphere with coaches roaming around providing tips and help when needed. I think after the first session which was 20 bucks, it's $300 for 20 sessions (twice a week)

I'd love to see other NS'ers there so we can push eachother with freeski style tricks rather than pure gymnastics style.

that sounds awesome. i been lookin for something like that especially with coaching. where exactly is it? and where can i get more info??

Bounceinc has just opened in Malvern and it is sick. They cater especially for freestyle skiers and there set up is AMAZING! Chek it out on Facebook or do a simple google search.

I'm sorry, but bounce is bullshit. They do not cater for skiers at all! They are purely just trying to make the bucks out of people who don't get the opportunity to use trampolines. Bounce does not encourage the progression or development of a skiers trampolines skills. The dislike people learning new tricks that may end up with a few hard hits. The training facilities are not suited to learning things. The have discouraged me from trying doubles on tram because "i could break an ankle" even though risk is a large part of the sport. I have been told that "if i did that again i would never come back" after i tried a misty off a large gym mat onto 2 sets of pads. Pretty much they don't understand what half the people use the facility want and get scared by people pushing their limits and progressing.

That's due to their legal liabilities especially during busier times, imagine if you broke an ankle and you had a hundred individuals to back up your story. Go their during the day and you can try anything you like. The owner is a skier himself and he is very proactive about the progression of freestyle skiing in Australia. You have to understand that bounce has to cater for both sports people and the broader general public.

Regardless of the amount of equity he has in the company doesn't reflect the hard work he continues to do there. You probably haven't been to any of the movie nights etc.

No it's just easier to "progress". I'm not an advocate for the company, I've always had good experiences there. Each to their own I guess.

Bounce is really hit and miss with the staffing, sometimes they're awesome and when it's quiet they'll pretty much let you do what ever. On the other hand I've also been threatened to be kicked out for doing gainers into the foam pit.

They do say not to do gainers into the foam pit in the performance area whenever you walk in though... But in general I agree, go when it's quiet and they'll let you do whatever you want.
