im so stoked!!! im takin the train home from college friday and ive never been on a train before!!! im sorry if this is a bit random but im just so excited. but a couple questions...

do trains have wi-fi?

and is it extra money to bring skis?
 
ya, trains have amtrak and no, they dont charge extra money for more luggage. at least not in the north east corridor.
 
Train is such a good way to travel. No WiFi though. There are standard power outlets, so you can plug your laptop in. It's fun and pretty cheap.
 
I don't know where you are, but this summer I took the amtrack from cali to new mexico back to cali, and I brought my surfboard and it wasn't any extra. I also saw people with bikes that they charged 10$ extra...
They had wifi on the train I was on, usually every train has a "lounge "car with chairs facing out towards the windows (comfier chairs) and they have outlets on the floor that you can plug up to.......but its pretty hard to sleep on trains I just sat in the "lounge" car all night and listened to my ipod
 
Me and some buddies took the amtrak from chicago to denver one winter. It was a fun hassle free way to travel. No extra fees for our skis too. Im not sure about Wifi as I didnt have a laptop with me. Bestway to sleep is to quick burn a bowl at one of the stops, then recline the seat back, and curl up and passss out.
 
yo do you go to SU? I take the train from syracuse to albany and albany to boston to get home sometimes. its pretty legit. tons of leg room and outlets for your computer/ipod/cell/etc. snack and dinin car are legit. No wifi though on the train though I can confirm as I've taken this train numerous times. Still just bring your laptop and a few ski movies and you'll be all set.
 
trains are an awesome way to travel. you can get stuck with some shitty passengers but if that happens just hit up the food car and get drunk. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO THE SMOOTHNESS OF YOUR RIDE. MAKE SURE YOU GET A SEAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR. DON'T SIT BY THE WHEELS AS THAT IS THE BUMPIEST PART OF THE TRAIN. SITTING IN THE MIDDLE FEELS LIKE YOUR RIDING ON CLOUDS. Have fun man.
 
trains blow man i missed my stop and the conductor laughed at me then told all the other people working that i missed it and the all laughed. Amtrak is the dumbest thing ever
 
wow missing your stop is really dumb. how can you miss your stop its the one thing you have to think about when riding a train. amtrak isn't dumb you are the dumb one sir.
 
I take the train everyday to school~ like said before unless its amtrak your not gonna get wifi~ it doesnt cost anything extra to bring anything up but a bike, you need a permit for that, or at least in ny you do
 
i think its called maple leaf or some shit. and for the one who asked if i go to su, i go to esf, which is right next to su. but i still get discounts to the bball games!!!! hahaha
