am i the only one who worships trader joes?
 
They have the best frozen foods section ever...

The orange chicken is amazing, as are the toquitos.

I also love the cereal
 
I don't like that store very much, but they do have some good frozen burritos and shit.

Their sushi is horrible.....but cheap, so what can you expect.
 
trader joe's kicks so much ass it's not even funny.

all the pasta sauces and curry sauces are amazing. and the frozen food...the mandarin chicken blows my mind every time. and mini tacos. man. i could rant forever about how amazing their stuff is.

aggghghhhhh i wish they had it in vancouver.

I think a lot of it is dependent upon where you live.

Like in LA it was super cheap, but in Minneapolis it is about twice the price.

A lot of the food comes from local grocers and stuff. So if you are in a place where they need to freeze and ship the sushi, it probably isn't going to be as good as like CA or Oregon or anywhere else fish are plentiful or is easier to get to.

My friends here always say sushi is so much better every where else, then I bring up, well what do you expect, it takes like 3 days to ship this raw fish, what do you think happens over those 3 days.

so awesome, all you have to do is make rice, sautee some veggies, boil potatoes if you want them, cook some chicken if you want it, and you've got a ridiculously good curry meal.
 
I wish vancouver had that too!!

instead we have "red burrito", which is awful.

when I was home in oregon this summer, I ate so much baja fresh.

damn this thread is making me mad.
 
Ohhh shit, I forgot that the curry sauce I use comes from Trader Joes, and the pasta sauce, it's sooooo BOMB!!!!

I'm from WA so the sushi should be fresh, maybe it was just a bad day. The rice was just kinda goobered up and not that fresh it seemed like, but at that price, I'll probably try it again haha.

My dad and his wife do a ton of shopping at Trader Joes so that's probably why the food is really good.

Baja Fresh is legit. I remember the fisr time I ate there I ordered he biggest burrito I had EVER seen. Moes is slightly better though. I wish we had one in B-Ham.
 
Oh my fuck. that store rocks my world. best dried fruit you'll find anywhere. randomly enough they have the dankest peanuts i've ever tasted too. but yeah my brother works there so we get an outrageous discount. LOVE THAT SHIT.
 
i like some of the stuff they have there, Gnocci, ice cream sandwiches...

but my mom buys like verything from there and its fucking annoying.
 
Ya, I'd hate if my parents bought EVERYTHING from there. It has some goods and some "ohhh dude what the fuck is that shit,"

Their prices are very good though.
 
they have a pretty damn good cheap wine selection too. It is only like a 5 block walk from my apartment so I am there too much....

it is definitely turning me into a wino....
 
Yeah, 21st and Glisan. I basically live 22nd and Burnside so it is less than a five minute walk.
 
Trader Joes should see this thread and then give us all coupons for the forementioned food items.

just hit up the center city philly one tonight. got some certified angus and made myself some tasty steak tacos. i wish there was one that was closer to my apartment; right now i really only hit it up on the way back into the city from surfing.
 
yessss my roommate just got back from going home to seattle for the weekend and she brought me back a load of TJ's stuff!!
 
Come to think of it, I've never had a distinctly "bad" wine at TJ's. I've had 'bad' wine nights though, uhf.
 
there were these chocolate chip cookies, i dont remember the name, but they were like long ovals and then the bottom was coated in chocolate.

Might as well say trader joes is great. By far the best frozen food, good cheeses, meats, and wines, sauces. It's hard since I have a safeway like half a mile away and trader joes is like 4...
 
meh, Trader Jews doesn't stack up to whole foods but i still go there because it's way way cheaper and pretty good

yeah, i havent been to baja fresh in a couple years because the closest one to me is a solid 30 minutes, how has it changed?
 
they have the best chocolate mint things there. A teacher from my school works at the closest one to me, but shes really tight. I have some friends who were buying eggs one night for... stuff, and shes just like, "have fun"
 
dried berry medly...blueberries,strawberries, and i cant remember the 3rd one....they are like crack i go through like 3 packs a week
