Tracing a phone number

my parents received a prank call last night from someone in ottawa and probably one of my friends talking shit about my sister.

does anyone know how you'd go about tracing a number?

I was born, I know I will die. But, WHATEVER THE FUCK IS IN THE MIDDLE IS UP TO ME!!

i think you can call your phone company and ask for a history of all the numbers that called in the last little while, and usually they're able to give a location

I don't think you'd be able to now, but sometimes you can call the phone company and tell them to block the number that just called and they'll give you the number and aprox. location...

I don't know of anything else unless you are really good with computers :-/

all i need is the number, i can get the location no problem! when i get the info, there's gonna be a lot of shit goin down in ottawa!

where i am you just press *69, and it tells you last person who called, unless it was a cell phone, and no that was not a sexual joke (*69)

even if you *69, they can still catch you. i usta pank the shit out of this one guy EVERY time I'd *69 it and the police called and told me to stop or I'd get charged

yeah *69 is kinda pointless now since it happened at 2am. well thanks for the info guys! if this plays out as i'm hoping it doesn't, i may need someone to post bail for me within the next couple of days
