Liberty University in South Western Virginia has the first snowflex center this side of the atlantic. They currently are having a soft opening, and i made the treck to Christian Fundamentalist Land to check it out.
Currently, it is a 2 slope set up. One slope has with a flat box, a dfd box, and a 15-20ish foot true table style on the other slope. both bottom out with a quarterpipe and wallride.

potato 5.

it's really fun, soft and takes some getting used to. It also feels wierd being in ski shit when it's 95 degrees. Definately check it out if it you get a chance, it is truly a great time.

i just called this place is ON ! pm me if your in the DC area and wanna carpool there this saturday

hahaha i wish this had opened when i was still at H-SC like 30 minutes down the road...oh well
and yah dude you might not want to wear that many layers until like november...

you have to wear longsleeves, pants, and gloves or they won't let you on the slope. and since it is constantly being hosed down by their sprinklers, the hottest day of the year didn't feel too bad.

overall the place is way fun. the jump is pretty good but the take offs for the boxes are real wacky. Would be way better closer to the NE as the majority of the crowd are snowboarders from VA who fall all over the place.

Im reviving this old thread to avoid adding another.
I might be going next week if things work out. But first before i make the trip i want know a few things if anyone else has gone.
What all should I bring clothes wise?: Ski gear, or just long sleeves and jeansIs the place worth a 4hr drive?: Being a person dieing to ski anything during the summer. Is it fun?

I made the 5 hour drive from PA a couple of weekends ago. Totally worth it if you ski park. The people there were super nice, let us ski for free a lot.
You do need pants and long sleeves and gloves, but anything thin is fine for the heat.
There are also some hiking and camping oppertunities available in the blue ridge mountains 30-45 mins away.
Also, the snow flex center is on the top of a hill, so it affords a nice view over the valley and Blue Ridge Mountains, with perfect sunsets.

My cousin goes to school there and skis it all the time. He loves it, but says if you have any skin exposed, it will get ripped to shreds. Cover up for sure.

Yo, I'm heading down their this summer but I'm going with a friend who is 17, will that be ok? I read somwhere that you need to be 18 if a parent is not present. Someone let me know. +k
