Well lets just say I've gotten real jealous seeing all my friends pics from out West and seeing them getting some great turns. This morning I decided, Fuck it, I'm going skiing, doesn't matter how much or little now there is. I had scoped Bromley and Magic the day before but Magic had pretty much nothing, Brom was pretty covered.

Hiked up from near the Bromley Village (Condos). You can actually drive up a bit on the side of the mountain that saves you a bit of hiking. The hike up took only about an hour and a half and was pretty enjoyable except for a few places where the snow got super deep (not a bad thing on the way down).

I ran into a few snowmakers when I was up there and was a bit worried they might bust my balls about trying to ski when/where they were blowing. So I walked up, I was obviously super stoked to be up on the mountain for a bit, had a nice little talk with him and he didn't even mention that I shouldn't be up there. With the greenlight I was even more stoked (plus I was pretty much at the top so there wouldn't have been much he could do even if he had gotten pissed).

Hiked over the peak towards Corkscrew, one of trails at Bromley that gets ALL the snow blown onto it because of the direction it faces. They had blown some on Corkscrew but there was a lot of natty snow up there! It was great! The left side of the trail was covered in fresh fluffy white stuff. I was able to ski down to about mid station before it got super sketchy. Saw a couple more snow makers when I was taking off my ski boots just below mid station, I got a big thumbs up from one of them who was obviously stoked I was riding. All in all I couldn't be happier right now. Don't let those West coast powder fiends get you down. East Coast stoke is right in your backyard.

Actually some really nice snow up there! It continued to come down the whole time I was up there. Dippin into a real nice stash.

yea big brom! can't wait to get back for christmas break an shred it upp

thats sick you hiked it n got freshies, i've never gotten the freshies on my preseason hikes

Wow nice little trip, Duncs!! I think that on friday, I'm going to leave school real early, hopefully at about 12 and hopefully get to Mt Snow at about 2 or 3 and then do what you did: hike up until it's sunset and then ski down. But i'll probably get blasted by snowmakers...oh well. If anyone wants to join me for a friday afternoon hike and ski at mt snow, let me know!!

Nice dude! I was going to hang out up at the top for longer and hoped to catch the sunset but it was just too damn cold and windy at the top to chill up there for more than half an hour or so.

nice man. After being up North for four years, im back near southern VT and I'm going to hit up Bromley a lot this year.

Sick TR, can't wait to hit up the local mountain. Shame there isn't enough snow, the one weekend so far this season it has had enough snow, I wasn't able to go and now it's all gone. Hopefully will get some more before the end of the year, not sure I can last without snow until the new year.

You should've hit me up. I would've been happy to make Killington more reasonably priced yesterday. I was there all day.

Your bandanna is upside down!!! Nice work hiking though, that's some determination.

I don't have school tomorrow, and sunshine village is opening up a chair, so hopefully i get some early season pow myself.

looks like so much fun. i am moving to south lake tahoe next week and heavenly is still not open while a lot of places here in the east are already open or opening

Looks like good times. Reminds me of this last July when I hiked a local mountain and skied down it. Fuckin good times. I live in the west and got nothing to climb yet. Its shittin snow right now though so maybe this weekend I can go hike...

haha I know! I didn't realize til I saw the pics. I wasn't too concerned how it was on at the time because it was so damn cold up there.

haha hell no! I drive a Toyota Tacoma. Just sold my Suby. I took the picture from just outside my door. Those are just 2 random cars.

I would rather kill myself than drive a Bug.

Hey hey hey...

A buddy of mine drove a purple VW bug. It was a 1.8T that ran mid 13's in the quarter. Not too shabby for a bug.

Plus, who can argue over having a flower holder in your car!?!?!
