Toyota Tacomas

and there are plenty of better trucks made elsewhere.sure, big macs are great, but I wouldn't take a big mac over a nice steak.

You wouldn't buy any of these sexy ass American trucks? I'd rather buy American than anything else, that's just me though!

I wouldn't buy a truck in the first place. the only thing I would use it practically for would be moving snow and ski equipment 3 months a year. I've never even driven an american truck, but every american car I've driven was a piece of garbage.

Again. What the fuck does a Big Mac and a steak have in common? Big Macs are American and steaks are....... Not american? LolWTF

First car was a 1985 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab 4x4 22RE manual. I bought it for $4000 and sold it 2 years later for $4500. They definitely keep their resale value.

I now have a 1989 4runner, V6 SRF manual and it has been my daily driver for about 12 years. It now has 215k miles and I've never had a problem with it. The only repairs I've had to make are typical standard maintenance. Everything works great and it is still going strong. I bought this car for about 8k and could sell it for not too much less than that--again, awesome resale value.

I also have the exact pickup you describe: 2010 Tacoma double cab 4 door 4x4 v6 sr5 trd sport with extended bed. I managed to score mine with less than 7k miles on it, and I think there's about 10k now. I love it. The four door aspect is so awesome. I'm not used to that since both my truck and my 4runner are two door. I love not having to flip the seats forward for people to get in and the extra room in the back is awesome. I've only had this truck for about 6 months but love it. You won't be sorry if you get it.

You compared a Big Mac and a steak. The only thing they have in common is that they contain beef. You could have picked something way better. For example, Natty Ice vs any other beer. It is quite obvious that natural ice is inferior to almost any other beer. I wouldn't be that hard pressed to find a steak of low enough quality that a Big Mac would be superior.

You're comparing American cars from other countries. So Big Mac = America I agree but what the fuck does a steak refer too? I'm pretty sure steak is a worldwide food and probably more steaks are eaten in America than any other country. So yes your analogy is absolutely retarded and I will stand behind my LolWTF...

I don't know cause you didn't specify.... Now that you've told everyone the analogy makes sense. Although I still disagree with you on the trucks. I'm talking about real trucks here not 4runners and stuff that have been posted. In which case American>Foreign imo and Deisel>Everything else which is a fact.

I have owned a 2000 and a 2009 tacoma, both manual. Wouldn't buy anything else.

As far as comfortably seating people in the back of the 4 door, good luck. It will suck unless your friends are 5'4". I rode home in a friends once on a 3 hour trip after skiing and could not move the next day.

I highly recommend the camper shell idea if you have a warm sleeping bag.

The newer 4 doors are way roomier in the back than the early 2000s--not sure what your friend had but this could explain it. I think the backseat is pretty roomy (granted I'm 5'4"), but my husband is 6'3" and doesn't mind it at all. That being said, it is smaller than a 4runner in the backseat because the seats don't recline.

oh didn't realize you were from canada...you know you can get factory leather interior there in the Tacoma. Can't get that here in the states.

The FJ75 I posted is a truck. So is that FJ60 to some extent.

The Toyota Diesels (not offered in North America) are the best engines on the planet I think. They have 2 generations of 3.0 I4 TD engines and a newer, 4.4L V8 TD. The latter is offered in the 70 series Landcruisers, while the former is in the Kluger, Hilux, and Hilux Surf.

I miss Australia...such nice vehicles.

you drive a bronco not a truck.

also, toyotas are great trucks. and almost all of the new ones are built in america. I love my cummins, but she was built in mexico.(at least the engine wasnt.)

I mean really in the half size truck market what compares to a tacoma? and nothing comes close to holding resale value like the yoters do.

But also, I'd put my Bronco in the same category as the 4runners. More of a 4x4 vehicle than a truck.

As for the small trucks, Tacomas are good trucks and are better than most other small trucks out there. Much better than a Ford Ranger or an older F150. (The new F150's are much bigger and are pretty much full size trucks)

I love the late 60's and early 70's broncos. I mean few automobiles can even compare in the aesthetics category in my honest opinion, especially if restored like yours is starting to look like. I don't typically think of them when comparing small trucks, when I think of Broncos I think of Defenders, old FJs, old 4runners, and Scouts. I love broncos and toyota trucks equally but separately.

You just went up like 5 notches in my book! Most people look at my Bronco and say, "Nice Jeep man!" Now I just need to finish it before winter ends so I can at least take it skiing one time...

Love the half cab! Just get rid of that front bumper and you'd have one hell of a Bronco! And throw EFI and Astrovan Hydroboost on there of course!

hahaha, i was thinking the same thing about the front bumper/grille guard, but the rest is so good I didn't mind. I mean the brown seats with that paint color...classssssy. Love the bright colored ones like yours too-- red/orange, blue and yellow.

I cant wait until i get the black accents on the grille and tailgate done as well as getting the hard top finished. Working on some custom fab to fill in the hole on the bottom of the grille right now so the painting is on hold atm.

what the shit the pictures make the thing look like a hot wheels toy car haha love the black though...

I always get jealous of stiffler in Role Models when he's driving around that beautiful matte green/khaki top bronco

yeah same-- or zoolander or mad love.

I liked a lot of the aspects of the concept car for a new bronco II, not nearly as cool as the classics, and there's aspects of it that are kind of funky looking too. Still think they should come out with something similar though.

The only thing I would add here is the few other differences in the TRD packages:

the sport has different seats- the front seats are a "sport bucket" seat with driver lumbar adjustment

the sport has colored keyed bumpers (so painted instead of chrome), the off road has chrome

the sport has 17" wheels, the off road has 16"

and the most important thing of all: the off road package does NOT come in a long bed option! This is the main reason I chose the sport over the off road.

nevermind, I could be wrong...but I'm pretty sure there was a reason why I didn't get a 6 speed manual, and I thought it was because I couldn't get one with all of the options that I wanted...will check.
