I hope I am not the only one who misses their films. They had the best crew and always created the best vibe/hype for upcoming seasons.

They had such a sick crew with young pre-hype riders like

Karl Fostvedt

Khai Krepela

Jake Doan

Sam Hurst

+more

They were a bunch of guys making amateur ski films out of the Montana State Film and Photo program. They were passionate about it and their movies were awesome, but they couldn't pull enough money to make it feasible to continue. A lot of the guys involved with the creative sides of it just moved on to work with different production companies, Jonny Durst for instance went on to work a lot with Level 1 in their most recent movies and does quite a bit of freelance work. Gill Montgomery went on to pursue a professional career in photo. Obviously, the majority of the riders haven't dropped off the scene either, their spirit is still alive and well within the industry.

They are all definitely still on the scene, I don't remember the movies that well since it's been a while but I definitely remember being blown away by Karl and Sander Hadley and some others. I think one of the coolest parts about them was that they were still up-and-comers, and they really captured that vibe. Nobody had ever heard of them, but the skiing and videography was so on point and the whole crew was hungry. It was clear that there was no real budget or sponsors, it was just a bunch of kids and ski bums who met up in Montana and were making a go of it. The skiing was obviously bonkers, but the spirit of it was the best part. That was the spirit that kind of got me into skiing, when I was like 14 a lot of now big name crews (Stept, 4bi9, TSP and many others) were still just ski bums and college kids acting a fool and doing things their way. To see them all grow to be major stars and influences in the ski industry and beyond (Stept and 4bi9 now do tons of videography all over the world beyond just skiing) has been super inspiring. The Bunch also comes to mind when thinking of an independent crew that blew up, but I'd be really stoked to see another homegrown American Ski crew come on the scene here putting out some awesome content and videos just like TSP used to.

The Hoodcrew

Oliver Hoblitzelle

Gavin Rudy

HG skis crew

Act natural is still one of my favorite ski movies and I still want to see Set Your Sights and Come Find Us. Think I made a thread about it a couple years ago but never got any response, but if anyone has a link to those please post it here! Already have act natural on iTunes but cant find the other two any more and not really interested in dvd's when I have no where to view them..

Those "crews" can't be compared to the TSP boys. Shay Lee, Sandy Boville, Karl Fostvedt, Noah Wallace, Khai Krepela, Jake Doan... those are some big names. Nothing against Hoodcrew or HG Skis, but the above dudes shred a lot harder.

TSP was the fucking shit! I was born and raised in Bozeman where I still live so I grew up watching TSP. I don't think any other ski movie has created the vibe that tsp movies had. Act natural is still one of my favorite movies. Also does anyone else think it's weird how their website has been untouched since they went out of business? For someone without the knowledge you wouldn't even know that they stopped making films.

Them and I miss the mid to late 2000's 4bi9 era crew. I know 4bi9 films Good Company (new movie looks soo fucked up) but wallys segment in Slamina still blows my damn mind.

Best vibes ever.

They were the only premier that we would get back in South Dakota and it was always the shit. In Set Your Sights they had a segment in my hometown of rapid city... they were sending shit off the highschool and that shit was so hype.

Act natural is still one of my favorite films ever too. The vibe of that film was unreal.

I was just listing some comparable American ski crews now. I get that HG and Hoodcrew aren't putting out the same production value but kids still know their names. When TSP was hot they weren't quite the biggest names yet either. The Hoblitzelle crew and Gavin Rudy have names that are on the up and up, Mango, colby, quinn, sondrup, swadburg, etc. And some of them are in level 1 or good company movies now.

Immediately after posting I realized I left out hoodcrew, and Oliver's edits the past year or so ft. Hoodcrew/PC squad have definitely been fire. As much as I love hoodcrew (the tunes, skiing, and general debauchery are incredible) I feel like "production company" is a bit of a stretch, they seem to keep it pretty raw with the iPhone footy and they're more like a collective than any one specific company.

Always loved the feel of the movies, just something about them

I own Set Your Sights on DVD and watch it every fall to get hyped. They also had the sickest logo of any ski company imo.

Best crew? hardly. Since when are Karl and Khai known for their tsp parts..

They weren't...... But what I am saying is a lot of these skiers who have risen to fame have came from this small crew who put out some amazing content.

Miss filming with this crew. Not only was the entire film year a blast with so many good times, but that premiere in Bozeman was wild.

All three premieres were so goddamn rowdy, no other ski movie premiere I have ever been to compares to that shit. Everyone raves about level 1 in Denver but I don't think it comes even close to the vibe and stoke that you would feel in the Emerson. My first year in Bozeman was when come find us came out and it was the best welcome to the Montana ski scene I could have asked for. Good people.

just curious was that those guys major?

I know Jonny was a film major, and I'd assume Gill was probably a photo major. I'm a part of the same film and photo school, and the two programs are house in the same building. Some photos and old prints (specifically this one of Finn Anderson airing to a rail in front of a bare deciduous tree) are still hanging up in our finish labs. The TSP ties run deep here.
