Touring setup

armada jj, marker baron(upgrading bindings this season), black diamond ascension skins, black diamond avy shovel, black diamond probe, and getting a beacon soon

Armada JJ 185 cm, Black Diamond custom sts skins, fritchi pro's. Not a big fan of the fritchis for resort and for my next touring set up i might go with g3 skins becuase they are lighter and work just as good from what ive seen.

Nice thread!

I probably will get some hate or ??? faces :)

190 Bibby with Look Pivot 18's on inserts + Trekkers in backpack for when I am in a resort and spot something to hike/skin for, very short though..

On some more inserts I want to get some Dynafits/Next years Plums (with brakes, brakes wont be compatible with this years Plums)but those would be for some real touring..

I use BD Factors + Gecko skins (Check those glueless skins out!)

- 186 Bibby Special w/Barons for sidecountry/short access big backcountry lines

- 182 Jaguar Sharks w/Dynafits for longer tours

- 176 Eldorado w/Dynafits for spring descents and mountaineering

are there any bindings that compare to the ease of climbing that dynafits allow? I have a back country skiing and avy course in a few weeks. I already have Caylors with rossi px14s or something as my dedicated in bounds powder ski and i love them.

Also how much of a problem is rocker when climbing? I was looking into the 191 Caylor lights or 186 Billy Goats but have heard the rocker makes it tough to get places.

Plum would be the only substitute to Dynafit that I would consider if serious about uphill ease. But good luck finding them for under $550.

I've put in many days with a fully rockered ski and only noticed a problem on super steep and tight switchbacks, but that could have been because the one ski I was using was 200cm in length. In these situations, you just have to remain as centered as possible. If not doing anything switch in the backcountry, it's certainly better to have a flattish tail for anchoring.

FUTURE TOURING SET UP

on3p billy goats

Plum guides

Dynafit boots, not sure which ones yet

Thanks man.

Do Plums have any advantages over Dynafits? or are they just the only other guys in the super light binding game.

Keep in mind Hoji is a small dude though. He may charge, but if youre looking to do that and youre 180+, I would hesitate to spend money on those. Just my opinion. Feel free to blast me for it

Rockin' the MFDs underneath some STH 16s.

Super pumped to ski w/ these. Hoping they aren't too heavy and the flex design is awesome.

well im only about 140 so the dynafit guides are probably plenty burly enough for me huh. I was really hoping to have something that worked well riding switch.
