Touring on Surface?

Hey all,

Has anyone ever tried touring on any surface skis with the 3 stage rocker? I have surface new life's as my only pow ski, and I wanted to get into some really mellow touring. My resort opens uphill access before and after operating hours, and that will be mostly what they are used for.

Also, does anyone have a good recommendation for some cheap nylon skins that will fit 120mm waist ski?
 
Yeah of course I got a pair of New Lifes's and skin with them. I am not sure on cheaper skins but I use BCA Magic Carpets. I would suggest looking for some slightly used ones maybe on tgr, craigslist or ebay.
 
That was my go to ski for 5 seasons. had a set with some dynafits on them. used them for every condition from deep uptracks to the iciest bullshit. In all honesty they worked, provide just enough surface area to stick for the uptrack even on steep gnarly kick turn corners, and scare the fuck out of old granola eating ski touring nerds who think your skis are broken. They definately worked and for a couple "really mellow" tours you wont be disapointed.

nice to see someone skiing those things still! snowblades with training wheels!
