Touring gear

I am getting ready to take a level 1 avalanche course and I have to rent touring gear. I've never used touring gear before and am nervous about not being able to keep up with everyone if I am unfamiliar with the equipment. How hard is it to get used to the boots, putting skins on, using the bindings. Just in general adjusting to using touring gear from regular twin tips and downhill boots?

i just use regular downhill boots but from what ive seen from my mates they r pretty similar just more upright stance and a few other details, as for putting skins on, you shouldnt have too much trouble unless ur a complete mong (have a practice at getting them on and off before u go out), and for bindings i didnt have any problem using them, but for the first couple of times out they are a nightmare for ur leg mussels as its a totaly differnt movement and it does feel a bit unnatural. wouldnt worry about it too much tho.
