Touring bindings

I moved to Montana and I want to put some touring bindings on my new Magic J's what are the best ones that can sustain cliff hucks, money is not an issue.

Well man, You have the choice.

But how much time are you looking to spend touring?

Are you planning doing long tours?

I had some baron's all years at Revy and put 80 days or more on them, maybe 35 day's of tour/sidecountry. They hold up well, but they get heavy and the 3.5cm height is the best.

I prefer the guardian when I tried them, but they only had 2 position, which was a downside and they are heavier. But felt way better, like real binding.

You can look at the plum guide or dynafit, they might cost a liitle more then baron's , but are lighter and are whey better for touring. But you'll need need boots I suppose.

You have the cast option to, you can read the blister gear review on them, same thing for the MFD all-time, they have a good review.

im not 100% sure I know i will be hiking sidecountry at bridger and big sky and probably some real backcountry as well.

Well, look like you won't make long tour every day, so yes the guardian should be good.

You should take a hour or so and read some review on the barons/duke, guardian's and the other a/t binding. They all have their pros/cons.

For the center mount, I don't get it, does it gonna effect you? But if i'm not mistake, aren't the Magic J the bigger brother of JJ? If so they are meant to be mount at recommended cause they are 5 dimmensionnal ski ( I don't know how to say that ha )

For the boot, buy something that fit, but if you change your boots, you have to make a choice between tech boot and tech binding or boot like the salomon quest that can fit in the two kind of binding.

But since you're startinf touring you should buy something like the quest or the other boot along those line, the new quest backcountry or whatever it's called ( the blue one i think ) looks great.

I'm tired and can'T help you more, I'll give another read tomorrow, I might tell some shit that are not right.

I have my magic j's -2.5 from true center and love that position, they are less restrictive than the JJ in mounting cause they have less sidecut and more camber than the JJs. I would look at the guardian, or if you want the most bomber setup possible for hucking, mfd all times and p/fks 18s (assuming the din range is appropriate).
