so i'm getting some wide skis and don't know if i should get some naxo bindings or not. if i got them i wouldn't need them very often i don't think (like once or twice a year). so whats your opinion?

If you only dabble in touring and want a clean downhill setup, I'd just go buy some alpine trekkers. They pop into your ski binding and then hinge with your boot, pretty cool, and kinda cheap if you look around. Not the greatest for large trips, but it'll get you up and back a few times for sure. Look into those!

Get some Marker Duke Bindings, the best you can get. You won't miss any ridingperformance, but you have the perfect performance to do some trips.

I believe dynastar are releasing a binding called the legend first tram or sometrhing like that. its a at binding that skis like a normal look series.

just get trekkers.

or if you have the available cash, the Dukes.

but for only two times a year, trekkers will be fine.

some of the best touring bindings i have used are the diamir bindings they work very nicely and have tons of good features in all the models

no its a different company that i think went out of business, there pretty sweet, got a din to 10 and are actually the lightest things ever

pretty sure the dukes are the big mountain marker binding, that happens to have touring capabilities.

could very well be wrong though...

the only thing I do not like about touring gear is the boots. they have alot less stiffness and support

Trekkers, as people above have said. If you're not even going to tour much on them then you'll just have a sloppy setup most of the time. They don't work well with Look/Rossi heels though so get some high end Salomons on there.

i have a pair that my boots fit into and they are still a pain in the ass but better than post-holin

Go with the Diamir Freeride Plus. Tough enough for bumps and cliffs, won't release into tour mode - unlike the older version. It's what all the pros were running on during the Red Bull Cold Rush last year... even though the weather screwed their descent.
