Toughest runs of the Northwest

Anyone want to make a top ten list? Im thinking Cowboy mountian for stevens, maybe that one off the top of the weather station at west for snoqualmie... Northback somewhere for Crystal?

toughest? there are some chutes above 7th at steves that can provide some fun, but so can baker, alpental, crystal. nothing inbounds is all that tough. pro chute at stevens is interesting

yeah some of those chutes above 7th are tough because if you take a wrong turn you end up mobbing ass through a million trees that are the same size as you

but i dunno, wild katz maybe

Wild Katz just fucking sucks balls, its not that hard per say. Definently cowboy mountian and that ridge... I did some insane drop off the ridge beyond double diamond that led into big chief bowl two years ago, that was some tough shit to ski, terrible snow.

definately lower international, I've never been able to ski that run without laying down to rest at least like 2 or 3 times (i mean this in all sincerity). its not even a particularly challenging run (its not at all) but its always skied out to shit, and just exhausts me.

YES! probly the most technical run inbounds at baker. plus hardly anyone goes there so it can be good all day.

I would say that the chute at baker is one of the toughest in the NW for being on a trail map

im wondering if anyone has skied that chute that is to the upper right of herman? long ass hike... ive been thinking about it for years

The chute at baker is just tough on the entrance in low snow, because there are some mandatory drops on skiers left

That chute looks sooooo sick. Like something you'd see in a movie or something. One time I saw it at like 7:00 and the moon was out and the whole thing was just glowing. I was talking to this guy about it and he was talking about how bad it was for sliding. The worst part is that the only way I saw you could get to the top would be to hike up the actual chute where you'd be hella exposed. It would be a sick shot though too.

This line might be the best

Where is this pro chute at stevens? I ve haeard stuff but never seen it and am interested in it.

Also, do any of you know about a senaky chute? My friend and I always hear racers talking about it, but we have just assumed its crazy racer talk and we never feel like talking to them cause they are idiots most of the time.

So if you do know, where is it?

For Baker, I'm gonna say Gun-Sights. It's the narrow ass chute skier's left of the entrance to Dolphies thats a mandatory straight line that shoots you out about half way down dolphies. Also the pillows between Harry chute and dolphies are pretty gnarly

the pillows are pretty gnarly, but have you seen the entrance trail thing you have to take to get to them. never seen a more fucked up trail in my life

^yea man, thats what I'm talking about. Getting to them is the hardest part. The one time I did it this year my adrenaline and energy was all gone by the time I got down and lined up for the lower pillows. I ended up losing it on the second pillow and kartwheeled down the rest lol.

Ok, go with me on this:

When you get off Tye at stevens and look over Corona Bowl, theres a ridge that seperates Corona Bowl and the BC area on the back of Cowboy Mt. On that ridge, right near the top, it looks like there are massive massive pillows, probably for about 200 feet. The only problem is the aproach - you would pretty much have to climb up the ridge at the bottom near juipter chair base and circle around the ridge-top untill you got there, its massivelt steep anyway else.

Has anybody been here/skied this/know what I'm talking about?

you talking about the ridge across from eletric woo? if you are, then yes, ive been out there. havent skied the pillows, but built a booter

its a bitch of a hike (well not that bad actually), and i havent been quite that far, just along parts of that ridge. another problem is its easy to get stuck above some gnar treed cliffs
