Tough Mudder - Race Event Unlike Any Other

Just found out about these events tonight and they look like something I definitely want to be a part of.

Salt Lake City, October 13th and 14th [http://toughmudder.com/events/utah-salt-lake-city/] Will be signing up for this event, and looking for a team/someone to endure hell with me. I will be training for this, but more wanting to do this for the experience and to meet other people.

Oh and it will also be my 22nd birthday so definitely will be getting shit faced hammered afterwards at some SLC bars.

This is a long shot but seeing if anyone would like to participate in what looks like an event of a lifetime. Again I'm not going to be doing hardcore training but just want to be as prepared as I can get, so if this is something that might interest you send me a PM!!!!

Did a little more research on this event.....yeah SUPER DISSAPOINTED. No longer will be signing up, the video does a good job of conveying a super hard event, but they don't show the hour long lines you have to wait in before each of the obstacles.

Let this die.

Watch this video, it gives more a personal feel for the race rather than the glorified videos with epic music. You'll see what I mean then.

I did a lot of research last night on obstacle course racers. From what I understand Tough Mudders is all about team work, and they DON"T EVEN TIME YOU. What kind of race is that?

For more a individualized challenge check out Spartan race. Unfortunately, it's coming to Utah June 30th so almost too late now, but next year I plan on competing.

yeah I already knew about spartan race. That absolutely blows though, I heard they were trying to eliminate the lines but I don't know if they have been successful

I used to work for Tough Mudder. I never once saw hour long lines. It's actually a great event, and you should definitely look (back) into it. I guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun.

Definitely looks fun, won't disagree with you there. Just looking for something more competitive. I feel Tough Mudders caters to a more general population rather than athletes. Like I said they don't even time you.

If you want to be competitive, you can. The top 5% from each race get invited to the World's Toughest Mudder at the end of the year. The guys going off in the first heat are most definitely competing.
