I wasn't too bad at typing before but lately I've been trying to up my wpm so I can bomb through papers this semester. I'm using this little type racing game. I'm addicted to it.

Just got 109 wpm and had to take a hacker test which i failed so i can't play anymore...

right after i posted this i got a 97 wpm with 97% accuracy woot

ok, so now i see that it really all depends on which test you get. some have a lot of punctuation and use parenthesis, and various pronouns, but others are simple sentences. Also some are way longer than others.

For instance-- in my test above it took me 22 seconds-- so it wasn't a very long set of sentences. This one took me 32 seconds, but my typing was faster because it was a longer paragraph.

once you type a given set of sentences, you can choose to try them again. So my conclusion is that certain fast typers will find an easy test with short simple sentences, and try them over and over until they're memorized and they can type the shit out of them.

I failed the hacker test...i didn't even realize it was timed, haha, i thought we were just supposed to type in the box to prove that we weren't robots.

also, im a typing nerd....cause i grew up with AIM

Some pop up captcha thing came up, I think it's the "hacker detector" a few of you mentioned. I didn't even know what I was doing at first and missed out on the first second but oh well, I managed to do pretty well that time at least

also, it shows you as having different scores on the page because its adjusting for your errors.

You can't claim you type 100 words per minute if your accuracy is 50%...it adjusts for your accuracy.

Not really accurate for how fast I type. LD status and I read slow cuz books r hard. I also fuck up when I read fast and mix up letters.

what studies? if you google the fastest typers, they are 200+ and do not use the querty keyboard.

Dammit I was in the middle of a race when I noticed an advertisement on the side out of the corner of my eye for "active clothing" aka a nice big ass staring right at me. Kinda fucked me up.
