Alright so last weekend I saw these kids. One had mavericks, one had 1080s and one had another pair of lines...They had to have been 14 or 15, and they kept going off these little lips and trying to do spread eagles. Not even good ones. And after their 2 feet of air, they would stop and gloat to the others 'Dude did you see that awsome spread' or about how much air they got.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for the 'Gotta start somewhere' comradery progressing the sport stuff. But 600 dollar set ups to do bad spread eagles? It was just kinda annoying. It wouldnt have been so bad if they were 10 or 11 and stuff, but they were like 14. I mean it's no big deal, but I hope they watch the X games this year so they learn people grab their skis now.

I agree with the first post here. 600 dollar setups for beginner skiers is rediculas regardless of what they are doing.

Spreadeagles are pretty stupid but sometimes i do them just for fun.

 
Trust me, they didn't see me and wanted to make me think they sucked. I was in the chairlift, so they didn't notice.

Kids doing spreads are why the ski industry fucking sucks dick. I see 6 and 8 year old snowboarders doing some pretty sweet shit, and getting props for it, while these little fucking skier groms go out and think twisters and spreads are cool because that's what the old people used to do (and still do). Skiing will suck ass until everyone over the age of about 30 dies and with it the knowledge of mogul skiing and twister-twister-spreads.

Twisters are great, add a grab and do the trick perpendicular to the slope, then turn back. Looks pretty sweet if you ask me. Or maybe there's one of those fancy names for that grab that I'm unaware of because I don't own a tricktionary.

kids have got to start somewhere...im from england an only get to ski 3 weeks a year at most, on holiday in america and the alps and it is pretty hard for kids to get a foothold in the park scene ya know..u just need to encourage them and show them some rad shit and they will want to be like you, rather than some mogul skier. education is the way

I support beginners and stuff. I just wanted to share. It was just annoying to see it. And also, I know the old skool stuff is where it started. But honestly, how hard is it to do a safety? The part that got to me most was the one kid who turned to the other and gloated about his air, and the other kids were so excited about their spread eagles. That just looks ignorant and shitty.

no offence to the guy who posted this because im the same way but its like a band that you find before their really big, and then they go big and everybody listens to them and you feel their not as hardcore as you so they shouldnt have the right to listen to them, just like skis, their ruining the reputation of your twin tips. its just teh way it is everybody does this

sometime me and my friends do that for fun. we go to vallue village, buy some shitty outfits and then pizza our way into the park, so everyone thinks 'omg what the f*** are these guys doing in here'. we talk all funny and act all stupid and do spread eagles and stuff. but then we just like spin a 5 or something off the big booters, and they shut up

you think those kids had a choice in what gear they got? they probably told their parents they wanted some twin tips, and their parents, who are most likely loaded, bought them the best pair money could buy. its not their fault they're on top of the line gear, blame the parents.

and dont be hurtin on old school tricks. i GUARANTEE thats how you started off.

 
Dude i worked all summer for new skis and Im not gonna get some freakin solomon verses and marker bindings cuz they are cheap and beginner status. But still, even though Im not good I try and at least try to sty out of the way. But yeah, some kids at sierra at tahoe were doing 'old school' stuff and they did daffys and spreads. It was pretty funny.
