i know there are hundreds of threads on this, but i searched everywhere and my question wasnt really answered.

someone told me that it should go fast to dl a torrent once u have ur abc client, but i put the file in and it says its gonna take days, if it even goes.

once it got to 68% and just stopped

from now on it says: web service-inactive but im def on the interenet.

im just not smart with this stuff so i need some help

i have no clue what you are takling about but i have bit torrents and sometimes the torrents just dont work or you need to get a new program

 
Sometimes torrents start slow and then speed up... a lot of the point behind it is that it's based on how much you share (upload) to deter leachers and to make the file really accessible. some torrents like movies can sometimes have 20,000 seeds (people who have the complete file) and 30,000 leachers..(people who don't have the whole file).

So, it really depends on what other people are doing. if there's a lot of people downloading the same pieces of a file, the seeders my be overwhelmed for a bit.. meaning it will just take some time to pick up speed, deal with it.

The other thing is (i'm sure it's addressed in other threads) is that you should change your ports because some ISP's monitor the default ones - but don't directly admit it.. so switch the download ones around, I think that azereus and ABC my have a range and you can randomize them... also check with firewalls/routers to make sure that you can allow incoming connections.. you may need to forward them to your PC - just go to google for that , there's plenty of tutorials.

 
It depends, sometimes it goes fast, and other times very slow. But it is a great thing for albums ! I love it!

 
most popular cd's on torrentspy take no more than 20minutes, adobe after effects took one night. Use bitlord as a client, very awesome

I used to have problems with torrents untill my friend (~Cork_1080~) forwarded my ports on my router or something, now it goes alot faster.

Torrents work for tit-for-tat. The longer you seed, the faster you leech. Just leave already downloaded torrents uploading while you're downloading and you're torrents will go mad fast.
