To download music and shit like that i always used limewire. Seeing as it got shut down i now need a new source. All my friends tell me to use torrents because they are much faster and apparently all around better.

They all use utorrent so naturally i was planning on getting that but i was just wondering if there are any other good ones.

Be aware that since you are always uploading when you torrent you can get caught. hapened to me, luckly PSU doesnt give a shit for first offenses.

oh explanation is good:

deluge is a simple and very easy to use program. I'd compare it to the mac of torrent programs.

vuze is not nearly as simple but has a lot more options (most of which are useless unless you know what you're doing).

i recommend Deluge

there are also other programs like transmission

Go with uTorrent, google "uTorrent speed" and customize the options to improve speeds, set upload limits if your provider actually checks for abnormal traffic, but I don't think it will be a problem unless you DL ....like 400GB and upload the same amount in a month.

i use and recommend utorrent, but i hear vuze is good as well

utorrent is simple to use, and is a very lightweight program (doesn't use much memory)

I ended up going with utorrent and plan to use piratebay for most of my downloads. Thanks for the help anyways everyone +k

one of my friends almost got sued for 15 k for torrentsing Battkefield Bad company 2 Be careful no to get caught.

Like said, go with Btjunkie instead of TPB. Usually same trackers as well, but better layout and easier to spot fakes/baits.

so dont use the pirate bay?

Also i any tips for spoting fakes and shit like that. Im new to this whole torrent thing.

usually just read the comments, most people will support/call out a torrent

also a high seeder/leecher is a good thing to look out for
