Toronto GTA area

I will be recently moving to new-market area for a job (fabricator/welder), and I was wondering if any of the locals have any advice they can give me on the driving. I have driven in the Toronto area once and it seems like you guys either go under 100 on the 404 or over 140, no happy medium. My main question is what is traffic like in the morning? Is it as bad as I hear with gridlock traffic and a 15 minute drive taking an hour? Also what are some cool things to do in Toronto that cost little to no money, as I will be making Mexican wages until I prove my self competent to my new employer. Last question is, does the GTA have any reserves so I can buy my cigarettes.

sorry, your thread title bugs me. "Toronto Greater Toronto Area area" is what you wrote. It's like saying ATM Machine, but worse.

traffic can get pretty bad but you'll figure out back roads to take to make it easier. i got about 110 - 120 for speed

400 series traffic is the biggest bitch in the world an hour or 2 of barely moving is totally common if u hit rush hour times its annoying as fuck

if you're looking for reserves try in front of the soup kitchens jarvis.

and toronto has some of the longest commutes in the world. whats your route in the morning? can you find a place close to where you work?

120-130 is about right. 140 is pushing it. 150 is in the 10 grand fine get your car taken zone.

well i can make it from welland to burlington in 30-35 min, then from burlington to toronto can be well over an hour on a fairly average day, and for reserves a guy i used to work with got his smokes from out around caledonia

I'd say the worst for traffic is going westbound into Oakville. 403, 407, and the QEW all meet up. 10 or so lanes turning into 3 or 4 lanes... well, I guess now the 407 continues on beyond Oakville so it's probably not as bas as when I was around.

if you get a chance head up north. rama is the reserve, big casino there, lots of wakeboarding up north and WEBERS on highway 11
