torn ACL

I've had two torn ACL's along with MCL's as well.

It sucks. A lot. My recovery time was fairly fast, about six or seven months to 100%. Some people push it way too much and get back to a regular routine in like two or three months but you are just asking for future knee problems.

Just be aware of it and listen to your physiotherapist.

dude oh my god...that sucks soo bad, tearing my acl is one of my biggest fears, its so easy to tear its ridicoulus, 3 of my friends have torn theirs in the past year(2 tore it in soccer and 1 playing basketball)...recovery normally takes 6-9 months. sorry, but ur ganna be out for the ski season. they say when u tear it its not painfull but the physical theropy that u have to go through is unbearable. i am really sorry to hear about this, just try to keep positve.

how do you tear it...is it a twist in your knee then it rips or does your knee hyperextend or sumthing like that

Luckily (how lucky is this?) I only partially tore my ACL and MCL. It sucks. I did it last season and this season I have to wear a knee brace. Do whatever the doctors tell you. Don't even think about trying to be 'a man' about it and push it before it is healed. There is nothing manly about having to get a bionic knee.

Hope it heals quickly for you.

Peace.

In skiing, the most common way to injure it is either a forward or backward roll. You leg locks and something has to give, and since the ligaments are the weakest part, they usually let go first.

I almost want to tear them both again so i can get some Gore-Tex ligaments! YEAH!

bugger mate, get rebuilt quick aye.

sucks, I tore both my ACL and MCL. Recovery was supposed to be around 6 months or more. I pushed to hard and now luckily, I get to go back and have a second surgery because my knee is too messed up. All I can say is take your time and rebuild, there'll be other seasons.

how do you do that much damage playing frisbee?

you are probably one of those people who try hard in gym class

ive torn mine past three years in a row, get the hamstring graft its the strongest and do what they say during rehab, i didnt follow it very well my first two times, hoping this one will be able to last me, i want to ski, sorry to say but youll be out most of the ski season though

I just had acl and meniscus surgery 7 weeks ago and i have to say, it sucks, but its not as big of a deal as it sounds. i was fully walking and back to my normal routine at about 4 weeks (just because of meniscus) and my knee feels amazing right now. I live by the words of my physio therapist and its really paying off because im way ahead of where he expects me to be at each session. you will hate your life for the first week or so after surgery but it gets wayyyyy better. its only as bad as you make it and i have always tried to look at it with a positive view. Also, get hamstring. It will be much better in the long run.

good luck. stay strong.

and like others have said, work hard, but dont rush. some stuff in physio is mega painful but its like 15 min of pain they have to give you for only a few sessions that makes you feel so much better in the end. Otherwise physio is lots of muscle stim and weight training. Im on track for a solid 6 month full recovery which im stoked on and will be sticking too.

Did anyone else even see this? I'm laugh so hard.

Fuckin OWNED bitch!

hahahahahahahahaha

But yeah, bad news: say goodbye to your entire ski season.

Good news: Get buff as fuck at the gym.
