Its my list, its almost completely personal preference but I feel comfortable defending anything on the list, & I listened to 30+ albums from this year!!

And its only hip hop since thats mostly what I listen to, post up your lists though...also gunna make a top ten songs of 2010 thread.

word... i like the thought. Not much of a CD man myself but I make an end of the year CD each year with various tracks... I'll post it up soon

30 albums of one genre is a lot to listen to enough to actually absorb, IMO

difference between hearing and listening, dig?

I would definitely have to put the suburbs (new arcade fire) and the new sufjan stevens album among the top ten. and teenage dream, obviously. the new kanye and cudi albums are awesome though

kanye west - my beautiful dark twisted fantasy

Machine gun kelly- lace up

the incomparable shakespeare - the British invasion

Wiz Khalifa - burn after rolling

Eddy B - Dear north Carolina

Kno - Death is silent

big KRIT - Krit wuz here

chris webby - best in the burbs

Cee Lo Green - the lady killer

eminem - recovery(i dont know why i put this on here)

A few I listened to once and deleted, others I've listened to a few times, and some I've listened to over and over again, not all hip hop either, but yea I used to have to listen to an album 10 times just to understand the lyrics but I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty good at undertstanding lyrics, noticing intstruments, etc. in one or very few listens.

1.4x4=12 by Deadmau5
2.Words words words by Bo Burnham (some people don't think he is funny but you have to face the fact that he is a genius. He's only 19..)
3. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites- Skrillex
4. Recovery- Eminem
5.Man on the Moon II - Kid Cudi
And everything else I thought was just kind of mehhh. These are the only albums that stood out to me, even though i usually listen to metal like Tool and Opeth 0_o

Thats more reasonable, I thought you meant you listened to 30 total - counting the trash albums.

really? I used to be a bit of a deadmau5 fan but really didn't care for this album... considering all the other crazy ish coming off of the mau5trap label this year (skrillex, wolfgang, chris lake, etc), I thought 4x4=12 was the weakest of all... sstraight bore tour

I'll agree with you on the Wiz statement but have you listened to Pilot Talk or Pilot Talk 2? Curren$y's wordplay is fucking genius. It'll probably take you a few times of listening to actually understand his lyrics. Not to mention the beats his uses are original and not your cookie cutter type shit.

Kush and OJ is such a bad mixtape. It isnt an album btw. I think some of Wiz's stuff is sick, but Kush and OJ was just terrible. Sure, some songs were catchy, but it had absolutely no substance. Every single song was about weed, which is no surprise considering the title, but def isnt in the top "albums" of 2010. But I would love to hear your opinion.

I don't like kanye. At all. His voice annoys the shiiiit out of me, i dont know why though. I respect him for his creativity though its just not my favorite.

1.) Gorillaz - Plastic Beach.

2.) Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

3.) Informant - Signal EP.

4.) Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives.

5.) The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea.

6.) Awol One & Ecid - Are...

7.) MGMT - Congratulations.

8.) Mt. Eden - Meds EP.

9.) Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday.

10.) The Philosofist - Genesis.

Some defending that will inevitably be required:

The Nicki Minaj album is incredibly well produced, the beats aren't just average, her rapping and word play is actually very impressive. To me, Nicki represents an entirely different genre of rap then any other I see out there. She's outrageously sexual and sensitive at the same time, she has a great singing voice and does things in her songs I don't see anyone else doing. I'm impressed every time I listen to the album.

2010 has been a great year for music.
