Top sheet for boxes

So it's time for me to finally rebuild my boxes for ski season and I was wondering what to stick on top of them. The past couple years it's just been waxed plywood(I'm lazy), but that warped so I need to stick a sheet of something slick on top of them. Any ideas or suggesetions?

but does anyone have any proof to back up lexan? Everyone always says that but ive never seen pics of anyone sliding a homemade box with lexan. Ive used acrylic/plexi glass and it was a waste of time, it rippled and shattered the first couple times i hit it. I dont see how lexan can be any different unless you get it 1/4 inch or thicker.

What do they stick on all the boxes in the parks then? It's some sort of white plastic, I just need something thin and slick to put on the tops.

I'll try the PVC then since I'll just be using it this winter in my yard. It's kind of funny how a simple question like this can make all these people get fired up on how much better they are than everybody else.

what i have, witch is what came off of a box from breck is a half inch thick peice of pvc. go to hmedeop. i believe they can special order it for ya.

Lexan or 'High Density Polycarbonate' is what you want... I found this site but I ordered some acrylic off another company and if I remember correctly they had it cheaper. I think the name of the company was American Plastics or something like that.

I have yet to test out the acrylic I bought and I'll shit my pants if it doesn't work since it was a tad pricey. Anyone already know if acrylic will stick or not?

eew, BAAAAD call... that shit is just gonna crack and ripple and you will be pissed and broke. me and volklrider had some bad experiences with that. sorry man

dude read the stats for lexan... i think plexiglass/acrylic is is like 10x strength and then lexan is 160x strength. something like that, but i shopped for it months ago and forget.

lexan is way more durable, thats why it costs like $80 for a 4x6 sheet.

yeah, lexan works best, but make sure its at lease 3/8 in. thick, otherwise it will crack in the cold. Parks use the same stuff. if you want to use something thinner, make sure you support it with sheet metal or steel pipes
