Top Sheet chipping

Is there a way to "glue" the top sheet when it starts to chip off? I have some Lib Tech Nas Freerides which are notorious for top sheet chipping. Around the bindings its starting to chip on the sides. Is there a way I can take some preventative measures to make sure it doesn't get worse? I was thinking of a little P-tex or even just some wax globed on there to give it some protection.

any ideas?

if it's just minor chipping let it be, all sidewall skis will experience this at some point. If they are big/deep to the point where you can see the core for example you should fill it with marine grade epoxy

Yeah man you could try the epoxy route. I think chipping is inevitable which sucks but id fear doing more damage trying to add too much stuff know what I mean?

I bought paint markers to match the top sheet. Color in the damage, I use double bubble epoxy, apply the epoxy in small globs over the chips and use a hair dryer to heat and thin the epoxy. Smooth it flush with your topsheet with a tongue depressor.

Sand down the rough edges, and epoxy. For your next ski keep an eye out for stuff that is semi cap construction. All the benefits of sidewall, with the topsheet durability of cap. 4frnt/Armada are doing this, as well as several others, those are just the examples off the top of my head

Thanks guys I might try just a dab of epoxy, its not bad at all but it can see it starting to flake off and get worse.

another thing that can help is to take a file to the top edges of the skis and lightly round off the transition between topsheet and sidewall, it won't be much but enough that it shouldn't want to peel up as easily

I had this problem with my ninthward rds pros and i just painted a layer of epoxy over the pieces that had come off.

Also make a concious effort not to knock your ckis together on the chairlift. This way you're not doing any deliberate damage.
