I'm not a racer. I'm a big mountain skier. I still recognize that racing takes place on snow and is therefore a legitimate type of skiing (though still gaper tier) unlike rails. Skiing takes place on snow and ice, not metal.

Even though urban and rails are on the total opposite side of the spectrum from big mountain and freeride, it is still a sub-genre of skiing. You still have skis on your feet and slide on various surfaces
