this shows how NS has in fact sold out. The front page used to be one of the best parts about the website. But look it it now, the skier is literally covered by the advertisement. if that is not a metaphor than i don't know what is.
 
Ads are a fact of life when trying to run a web business... would you prefer paying to use the site?

Honest question... If so, how much would you pay? Also you know that we have always had an ad at the top right?

 
i mean obviously its a business, you need ads to generate money in order for this to continue. so thats fine and i understand that, i'd would prefer skiing related ads, rather than university of phoenix online. you got me with the top ad, but my point is still there.
 
Can't have your cake and eat it too!

These ads pay for new content and features which are always being added to the site.

Look at the video player on the front page which you want to have your videos on, that wouldn't be around if it wasn't for the ads. Yes some of the non-skiing ads might get annoying, but they they all do the same thing in the end - improve the site for the members.
 
We are certainly working to have more and more ski-related ads on the site!

There will always be a mix, but we want to get rid of the ads that aren't supporting NS directly, and keep it only to people who are.

 
you can't just invalidate my point by telling me i'm wrong. you clearly have the same view as anyone else who is either a moderator or who runs the site. I would much rather have a core site than have a new video page, or a new home page for that matter.
 
yo my friend gets the weirdest fuckin ads its so strange. there was one of a bunch of half naked guys and one that was a big fat and then right under it said word for word.. Want a bigger penis?

and another there was a girl with her mouth open in shock and under it said.. shock her with your large penis.. i kid you not these are his ads. and there are also alot of virgara- related medications..

lol.. i dont know if thats what it has to do with it. i think its a bug.. i could be wrong tho.
 
i'm bumping this so i don;t have to make another thread...
i would like to report a add with sound. it was at the bottom of one of the threads and it was shaking and telling me i had 2 new messages and kept going "buh-dink"( the sound pc's make when you missclick an application or something, i have a mac) it was super annoying and it took me a while to figure out where it was coming from.
