ok why the fuck is madlib's alias even mentioned in a TOP 5 MCs thread. he's a produce first and foremost. ever heard dilla rap? he sucked.

christ, stop defending a producer who raps with a helium voice. he's nothing special at all, it's just a fucking gimmick. i mean fucking god, the fact that quasimoto's name is mentioned in this thread and kool g rap isn't is pretty indicative of how well people know this genre

first off, dilla didn't suck at anything.

second, think about who youre talking to here. You think most kids on here listen to Kool G Rap, let alone know who he is? The funny thing is if you read a lot of interviews that ask most rappers today who they respect the most as an MC a majority will say Kool G Rap. So look him up.

third, you raggin on madlib doin quas as "nothing special" is stupid. It's original, you dont hear much like it.
 
^you obviously have never heard dilla rap. no disrespect, he's probably one of the greatest, most prolific producers in hip hop.

and second, why are you telling me that kool g was one of the most influential? I KNOW, that's why i mentioned that i can't believe madlib was mentioned as a better emcee than him when he's really a producer, not a rapper.

I like how everyone competes over how undeground they are, meaning if you know somebody no one else knows, you are automatically awesome.

When I said I liked Quasimoto, don't think that I simply disregarded all the other MC's out there. Just because 5 MC's that I like are listen doesnt mean that I'm saying they are the best. Notice when I said "I'm not too knowledgeable" I could go on wikipedia or ughh.com and educate myself and coem onto a NSG thread on a SKIING website and think I'm the man, but I'm just the person to do that, sorry. Go argue with people at your level if you think we are so lowly. One this I hate above anything else is people who rag on other people's music. Let them listen to what they want, ok? And if you are SO knowledgable, sorry, why not teach us, and list YOUR favorite MC's so that we can stop sucking Madlib's dick. Don't immediately disregard him as shit because you found some junkie in a basement somewhere. Not saying you don't know your stuff, or that you're pulling shit out of your ass, just that you need to think about the fact that throwing out some obscure names doesn't make you all high and mighty.

For the record, Quasimoto sucks balls. MF doom is cool to listen to, and madlib is obviously a sick producer, but Quasimoto is about as good as that song "who killed it" on Hip Hop is dead. Top 5? Get the fuck outta here.

yeah honestly i hate that guy, most of his beats suck and he thinks hes sooo awesome and thinks that he knows fucking everything.

and also i forgot to mention masta ace but fuck it if i wanted to make my actualy list it would have to be 20 minimum.
 
Meh, I think he's pretty sick... definitely one of the better lyricists I've heard, I actually like his beats, too. He is a cocky bastard, but that's part of what makes him fun to listen to, for example...

And if you go platinum it ain't talent or luck,

it just mean one million people are stupid as fuck.
