What are your top 5 freestyle tricks?

We've got the Kangaroo at No. 5 and the Pistol at No. 2.

Check out all the videos and the other three trick placements here.

Do you agree?

I definitely don't agree with Cab 5 double grab at #3.

DJ - #1

Pistol - #2

Hexo - #3

Kangaroo - #4

I dunno about #5. I'm not a spin-to-win supporter, so no straight up 1440's

yeah man i think its pretty open for debate but generally i agree with you

on a side note are you the runner of www.nonstopski.com cos that looks pretty sick in canada. maybe its not you but that blog seems to link onto it so i assume it is. you should get your name orange.

1) Fakie cork 5 critical

2) cork 3 no grab (ie tanner 1242)

3)Kangaroo flip that adreeas does with a mute.. slightly hungtonyed out

4) Stefan thomas's 3 to fakie in the pipe with the rocket grab.

5) Mikeal xgames circa 2001 rodeo 5 critical

who ever said pistol flip stop smokin crak.. that flip is soo ugly its just areals with bad form

1) Tom wallisch 270 pretz 270s

2) Jon brogan 450out's

3) tom wallisch flat 900

4) mickael sw sausge 10s

5) josh bishop 270 pretz 450s

FUCK THAT.

pistol flip is by far the worst, unsteeziest, gayest looking, most hucked and lamest trick I have ever seen. anything could go in that place and be listed as a better trick on the "top 5 freestyle tricks". i think even some 360 spins i can do off small jumps have way more style and can look better. nothing is cool about grabbing your knees when you spin. there is a reason why people like matt walker, jon olsson, sammy, tom wallisch, alex martini....have good style. THEY GRAB THEIR SKIS. not there knees. fuck that list. no wonder why some snowboarders think skiing isn't that cool its because of ticks like that. here is my list:

1) michael clarke - double cork 12 blunt

2) henrick harlaut - switch 12 in the pow

3) matt walker - 450 pretzle 450

4) tom wallish - rodeo to box

5) TJ Schiller - switch 1440

where is the love for jon's cork 7 opposite mute ~1242 and that oakley ad in st. anton? if you are unfirmiliar, look it up

Sweet!!! Skiing is back to arials, just with grabs and new names.... Im so stoked skiing has progressed so much over the years.

1. lincolins and frontflips on small bumps

2. nollie and/or (multiple) shifty 180s

3. handdrags (in pow)

4. pow slash

5. Jacob wester double cork 12 at JOSS (just to mention something comp worthy)

Damn that was hard...

1.jons switch cork 5 truck driver at JOI in the hot pink suit

2. TJ flat 5 kanged out truck

3. the ridiculous hsit that was landed switch in pow in such is life teaser

my list is by straight popularity and ability to win contests:

1. dub corked 1260
2. kangaroo flip
3. cork 810 to rail (or sw cork 630)
4. sw 10 (usually corked, sometimes both ways)
5. cork 9 (the interesting grabs thrown in there are what count)

270 lip slides are one of my fav.

travis heed's cork 3 true tails look sick and amazingly fun

sw 12's and 14's can look steezy and are impressive as hell

can't think of any others

#5 TJ sw 14 mute- so sick, plus he stomped this shit out of it.

#4 Gagnier's sw 12 octo

#3 Simon Dumonts x-game first hit, 9 tail and 22 feet out/qp world record also

#2 Olenick's truckdriver flip thing he does where he does a 5 or some crazy shit, overflip maybe?

#1 Olenick's Whiskey Flips whenever he stomps them.

5. switch underflip 7 (see eric pollard in idea)

4. zero spins in the backcountry (natural features)

3. switch 3's in the backcountry (natural features)

2. Mike Hornbeck's 2nd switch 7 in the jiberish edit

1. A HUUUUUUUGE flat 540 or rodeo 540 with a super tweaked grab.

theres so many sick tricks in freestyle, i think it would be pretty hard to nail it down to just 5. and it really didnt think the pistol flip was that amazing. kind of hucked and not very cool. i think double cork 12 should be up there. this really is just all opinion. some people dont like kangaroo flips, others do. you never know

yeah its a matter of opinion so of course its open for debate

but yeah we are the runners of nonstopski.com

thanks for all the comments, i guess the reason we went for the pistol is cos, as explained on the blog, the guy who invented it had only been skiing that season when he did it. We'll hopefully catch up with him this summer and see the new improved version.

The flat/rodeo five with a tweaked liu kang/japan grab should be at the top. Styliest trick right now.

I've heard enough of the double flips and spin to wins. I'd rather watch a smooth flatspin than a hucked looking double flip.

JP Solberg's double in the pipe is soooooooooo much sicker. it's a double alleyoop or flatspin or whatever. Sooo sick. i'll upload a video when i find it

this one's in my top 5 too, classic shit!

candides 180° up the original la clusaz step up, was in ready fire aim

pollard corked 360°

henriks switch 1080° in the hyphy 1.5

stefan thomas tailtip 180° over that log in long story short

corey canulars switch 720° japan off that corniche in shanghai six

there's so much more, but that's it for the moment...

Did you just get done watching this?
