Wow, pricey. A bitch I knew went to George WA. Now I'm sure that she only went there because it was expensive. She wasn't dumb, but definitely not like that far above average.

one kid from our school got a lacrosse scholarship to georgetown and another kid got one from johns hopkins, hes a senior there now.

union college is only a few miles away from me

holy shit thats a fair bit..you could probably negotiate a room at the Plaza every night for a whole year for less than that

i got a couple friends goin to skidmore right now the campus is fuckin awsome i love it, too bad i dont have near good enough grades or the money to go.

What do you have against people with a lot money dude?

Your other thread is about expensive clothes. What's wrong with people going to really nice colleges if they have the money and the grades?

word my dad knows some guy who works there adn his kids didnt go there, its fuckin insane to pass up a 50k college for free.
also i htought harvard was mad dough same with yale adn other ivy league schools?

i have never heard of sarah lawrence college before.

and shouldnt something like harvord(spelling) and shit like that be up there on the list.

i cannot believe any of these colleges are that expensive, but they are and it's really fucked up. i might be transferring to NYU for next fall, but more than likely im headed to canada to study french and because its a lot cheaper.

haha there are a couple of my top choices in there. hopefully I get scholarships...

6. Bates College | $49,350

10. Middlebury College | $49,210

14. Colgate University | $48,900

20. Colby College | $48,520

12. Boston College | $49,020

damn.

They have such a big endowment that they really don't even need to charge tuition.

Plus if your family income is less than 100 grand or something you automatically get free tuition.

Money means nothing to those big name Ivy league schools, because they have such massive endowments.

a majority of these are smaller liberal arts schools and while they may not be lacking in the academic prestige they certainly are in endowment in comparison to ivy league schools. to run many of these universities in a manner that will compete with ivies (faculty, program funding, etc.) they need to charge more.

how many students typically live on these campuses each year? (i'm not from the US so i don't know..) i'm interseted to know how much these colleges are making each year, because i'm sure their balance sheet would be looking very healthy..

Word, I go to NYU, and luckily I get some good money for merit. Basically we have enough money for next semester, but unless my dad finds a job, I dunno what I'm doing. Praying that my FAFSA gets me some aid I guess.
