Top 10 resorts

ski magazines top ten resorts are so much bull because it is only based on how family friendly it is and shit like that
 
those are totally based on how the tourist/consumer (mostly non park consumer) were treated. of course deer valley is going to win, tourists from hell! but good on a powder day. they all ski groomers.
 
ski magazine is bullshit on their best product of 2007-2007 list they only have like alpine and race skis and some powder but only of the bigger company's no armada or line.
 
Whistler. Always. It is Whistler. The terrain, the acreage, the snow, the weather, the living, the park, the town, and the scene. All within in an hour of Van.

Mammoth can be right there too.
 
Whistler always seems to be #1, even off a bad year. I think that this is my list

1. Whistler

2. the Aspen 4

3. Snowbird/Alta

4. The 3 at Park City

5. Jackson Hole

6. Squaw

7. Vail/Beaver Creek

8. Mammoth

9. Breck

10. Mt. Baker
 
Mt. Baker is not a resort. Not even close. It's a kickass mountain and that it is. There are basically no facilities there and there is no town. You guys have also missed Kirkwood and Big Sky which are pretty sweet.
 
I'm going to go on a tangent a little bit and say that resorts should not be put into the equation of how good a mountain is (i'm not sure if this is an obvious point because if it is i'm going to sound like a dumbass but here goes)i hate when mountains are rated on their resorts to me it should be how good the snow is, steeps, backcountry, trees, powder ect. not how cool of a night life the resort has. But then again i ski where there is no resort so i could just be talking out of my ass which i probably am
 
I think CB got #3 - must have paid alot for advertising in skiing, that is our highest ranking in one of these ever
 
thats because the magazine doest target YOU its made for the mass of people reading it that are skiers that take trips once or twice a year or are an older demographic, it isnt ment to target us.

i am just so glad no one is this forum has said the N word (Northstar). I mean that place has a great park (and always crowded), but I get so tired of seeing them in the top ten resorts in North America, when there are soooooo many that are better.
 
everyone knows that smuggles notch vermont is americas #1 family resort. duh, we have mice and moose and bears who ski and snowboard. we even have a massive dome called "the fun zone" full of inflatibles, and a waterpark...suck it.

i don't think stratton's park is better than brecks or mammoths or aspens..that list aint accurate
