I think I have a solid idea of what you don't like about p town...

If these are "small" Towns then apparently my hometown is a village.
 
I love evl! Its sick to have a small ski town that ISNT dominated by hotels (theres only 2) and still manages to stay interesting and have a bit of a night life (in the season). I grew up skiing there and love the fact that I can walk into ski shops, restaurants, and the ski lodge and know people.... thats not every ski area.

I dont think I could ever live there, but its always fun to get out there for a weekend, whatever season it is

Sandpoint, Idaho! This place is the tits. We have a killer mountain (Schweitzer) and a taco bell. If you ever get the chance, get up here!

Best small town in Canada is Fernie, or Rothesay.

im a average in american geography for a 19 year old canadian (basically i dont know much at all) and i have heard of a lot of these places. therefore they are not small towns.

small towns have 1-5k people IMO. more than 5000 people and its just a normal town. id say 25-30k people constitutes a city.
 
This should be renamed "top 10 white people get away locations"

All you southern Michiganders can keep Traverse City
 
Even in the LP there are way way cooler towns than Traverse, I mean 3/4 of the town are shopping centers you can find anywhere. That town was cool 20 years ago when it was the same size as Marquette, but with all the changes tourism has brought, it is not nearly as cool

 
I didn't want to say "Bloomfield, Northville, Farmington, Orchard Lake people" because no one on this site knows where those places are
 
That wasn't the result I was trying to get from that, seeing as how I'm one of those people except I would spend time in Boyne City. Just clarifying that Traverse is "the cool place Upnorth" with Petoskey and Harbor Springs closely trailing.
 
traverse city is cool because it's surrounded by a lot of cool places, beaches, scenery. food, wine, golf. so yea it's probably one of the whitest places imaginable.

i dont necessarily think that its one of the coolest places to visit, i just think that it's cool because it made the list.
