Is it just me or do you guys think that the progression of freeskiing so much seem to increase the number of posers around not quality skiers. Cuz it seems to me the parks are more crowded but its still the same select few actually pushing the sport! It seems inevitable that the parks are going to be filled with dumb ass' shreddin the terrain and ruing the park for everyone!

But you dont have to take my word for it!!

Dude think about it though, snowboarding was the same thing. Snowboarding became extremely popular very fast, and look how many good snowboarders there are, and how many posers there are. It's ridiculous, but unavoidable.

And honestly, it's not always their fault if you think about it. Maybe they are having fun doing what they are doing...not everyone can be a great, coordinated athelete.

Yea i see what your sayin...I guess it just sux but I guess i just got to realize without them the sport is nothing i guess its a compliment to where skiing is goin with all these posers

it's all marketing.

Snowboarding became insanely popular because it seemed to rebel against skiers.

Now skiers are more noticed partly because they have a truely marketable athlete (Tanner) and it rebels against FIS-organized events and snowboarding.

yea i hate it man... i wish it went back to how it was when not many people new about it and the people who did werent sure about it... cause back then only the true freestyle skiers would ski and the shitty ones would look on but now the freestyle skiing is 'cool' there are so many more fags in the parks... i saw more people on twins than on snowboards at tremblant the other day... man there gonna give the sport a bad rep

I dont know, i suppose if you suck, continue to suck, and do it to look cool, then its a poser thing. but theres a difference between being a poser and being a beginner, and as long as everyone knows that, then its all good, not everyone can go pro in the first week they go skiing.

i'm not very good, it was my first season doing park, 9th season skiing, but i dont ski to look cool, i do it because its fun as hell. i used to love going skiing, but once you hit a certain limit in the NE there isnt much more 'skiing' to get good at, so park was the next step. i'd love to be able to just ski big mountain and stuff, but park is fun too

 
no because some people actually try shit... which makes them not a poser... and theres too many of them... they should be able to do some shit before they get twin tips

uhm no why? twintips are great all mountain skis and you cant deny people to have great all mountain skis because thats not nice at all.

Even if you talk to some guy he wont think so because it isnt but then again youre not so i guess its good, yeah.

it is strange because i hate it when ppl call skiing gay, but i dont like the fact that skiing is growing so cooperate and soo many new kids are coming with thier expensive shit and they cant do anything but snowplow the lip of the jump. I say just stay core, and it will blow over.

I hate when kids have way better skis then me and they suck! theres this kid who is def a poser he has the best equipment sweet goggles jacket the whole deal. He mostly just sits around actin like hes waitin to hit up a rail or jump. once I saw him try a 40 foot table he made it halfway to the landing and died. Hes ridein hes fuckin sweet twins dont know what they were and im ridein my atomic race skis and landing 5's. I say people can get twins after they learn to do 3's and rails. then then can get great skis. poser= doin somethin to look cool even though u suck.

beginner= someone who is new to something and does it for fun not because of what other people think.

 
The more people that buy twins will bring the cost down! Then I'll be able to get a pair! As long as people that barely know how to ski stay out of the park, not only is it dangerous (and X TREME) it ruins it for the people that actually want to hit the objects. If people are beginning they should stick to the runs without large piles of snow and rails littering the run and learn how to turn first.

 
i disagree, theres always a lot of snowboard-posers but i never really see any freeski posers. all the freeskiers in the parks where im usually at respect each other even if someone sucks

yea, i think out of the 'action sports' or watever you want to call them, skiing probably has the least posers, or mabe bmx. look at skateboarding, thay got shit loads.

right now i'm not that great in the park...ive been skiing for a long time but just started park at the very end of last season. there isnt any reason why i cant get twins. why should i go buy race skis that are even more expensive than twins when once i progress im gonna need em. my view on newbs (myself included) is that they gotta start somewhere. those that are just doing it to look cool will quick soon anyways but those that do it for fun and because they love it will stick around and hopefully help progress the sport and give it a good name. the posers will blow over and realize that its lame cause they have no determination. pros had to start out the same way that we all had/have to. they just did it sooner. my 2 cents

 
What is your problem? Kids are starting the sport and your discouraging them? Im just stoked to see more kids on twintips up there, and when they get better ill have more kids to ride with.
