Too many people smoke WEED!

thats just you being irresponsible though, if I have a 10 page essay due the next day I'm not gonna spin a blunt and burn that shit, I'm gonna write the essay and burn when I'm done. Since I've started smoking my grades havent dropped or gone up, theyve stayed the same. It just depends on the person, like you were saying with the lawyers. Man I'm high

Honestly, I'm all for the legalization of Marijuana, but there's way more important issues in the world right now than that.

the reason why alcohol is legal and marijuana is not...

alcohol is mind numbing and makes you stupified to the world around you... the people think they are getting something because they have a legal way to get fucked up... but all it really does is take part in keeping a blindfold over your eyes...

marijuana is mind-opening... it stimulates creativeness and alternate ways of thinking which differ from the norm.... it broadens human perspective and promotes thinking for yourself...

and thats the truth...

actually they can. they have a sobriety test for weed. they put their finger in front of your face and make you follow it with your eyes. if you are blazed, then your eyes will not move back and forth evenly, but they will move kind of shakily back and forth. i've had the test done on me. look it up

If u still wanted to slang legally work for the cannabis club.

Lucky me I get my club card in 2 weeks since its my 18th birthday so I will be able to get the dankest stuff legally

Correction: In 1976, President Jimmy Carter decriminalizes marijuana on a limited scale... unfortunately it was not federally decriminalized because of a highly conservative government.

you might think that, but look back to the last generation. I'm sure they were all saying the same thing in 1968 when everyone was smoking weed and doing LSD, but those kids all grew up, got jobs, started to put on a tie, and before they knew what happened they were voting republican.

I think it'd be too hard to regulated a persons "bakedness". I don't think (correct me if im wrong) that there's any kind of blow test that can read THC in the blood, so they're not gonna be able to say you can only be this high to DRIVE, BE IN PUBLIC, ETC..

if pot got legalized, which it wont, so quit discusssing it, it would be so expensive.  the most we can hope for is decriminilization, which is its status in many parts of california.  so basically you get a fine if your in possesion thats about it

Not to hate but i have pothead friends and they just get so boring after a bit, everything is about weed: when they're gonna smoke, who they bought it from, where they're gonna smoke, how dank it is, how high they are, how hungry they are, when theyre gonna smoke etc.. Ya shits funny for a bit but when your friends turn into lazy douches who would rather smoke a spliff then try to pick up girls or go out to a bar, i find that weak as fuck and as for alcohol same shit man i know a few chumps who are assholes unless theyre drunk and they only socialize when wasted. Moderation i guess, but honestly i would not want to see more heavy potheads, i can only hear so many times how society is corrupt

It will be legal sometime during our lifetime. During prohibition you were able to get "medicinal" liquor with a prescription. Sound familiar?

yes, but the prohibition hasn't lasted nearly as long as the prohibition of marijuana.

I think that if a bill is to be passed to legalize mj, it needs to be incredibly thorough and explain every aspect of how people are going to catch you during a DUI, how much tax will be actually put on it, a youth-proof carding system (so that fake IDs will be really hard to make), and a complete list of who has used it and such, because employers probably won't want a bunch of potheads on their hands.

It's going to be a difficult legalization. Decriminalization is the most that can happen, I think.

im in BC where our biggest export is marijuana. It is a multi-billion dollar underground industry. I won a class election in social studies 11 promoting the legalization of marijuana. here is my speech:

Hello,

my name is Nic Sun, representative of the Chronservative Party of Canada. Our

party has three major proposals in mind. Our first and biggest goal would be to

lower income tax and GST rates in Canada. We believe that the current

tax rates are higher than necessary, and the current federal government is

spending much more money than necessary, and it could be more refined and

limited. The proposed deduction would be 2.25% on GST, and 1% on income tax. If

we were in power, we would also change they way that Canadians shop. We would

like to harmonize GST and PST taxes into the prices on all taxed goods. This

would ensure that you pay what is on the price tag. You might be wondering how

we would go about lowering taxes by such rates. The way that we would go about

doing this would be by legalizing marijuana, marketing it, and applying a sales

tax of 15% or more, overtop of the regular GST and PST rates. Doing so would be

likely to balance out the amount of funds lost from the GST and income tax

deductions. According to Statistics Canada, 14% of the Canadian population used

marijuana in 2004. This is generally not a very conservative point of view,

however our party name does not accurately represent our ideological status.

Now some people might think that marijuana is a dangerous substance that should

never be legalized. Contrary to what some people think, marijuana is not a very

harmful drug. It is much less harmful than tobacco and alcohol. In fact, zero

deaths occurred due to marijuana abuse in the US last year, whereas 450,000

people died from tobacco, and 150,000 from alcohol. It is also stated by CBC

News that approximately 150,000 dollars would be saved in court costs each year

if marijuana was legalized. The DEA estimated that 4 billion dollars worth of

marijuana crop is produced each year in BC alone. Therefore, with the

legalization of marijuana, this industry could become legitimate, and GST and

income tax rates could be decreased significantly. This would allow us to work

for you, at a lower cost.

Hello,

my cost.

Hello,

I think the government makes way too much money off of seizures and citations to ever settle for just taxing and selling it.

I would love to see numbers on how much bank the U.S. gets just from fines due to weed and cash seized in weed busts alone.

I was actually just talking with someone about this yesterday and it seems it's only still illegal because of the plant( or whatnot) that marijuana comes from, which can be used to make hemp and lots of other things. The government doesn't want to legalize marijuana apparently because it would make this plant more freely available and mess up the economy/industry or whatever if it was legal for companies to own the plant and mass-produce the products it can yield. Don't quote me on all that though.

I would like to believe the same but look at it this way. The generation of smokers in the 60's and 70's grew up and were able to vote. They probably smoked more than we do now. They vote but still no legalization.

they aren't voting.... that's the problem. Most voters are over the age of 40-50. I guess their is possibility for change in the future. In my town, I get a big whif of weed everytime im out on the town... too many people smoke to let this kind of thing go. I do agree that it is not the biggest political issue today... but it still needs to be addressed.

I have often wondered if the people could get it legalized through the Johnny Appleseed method. Imagine if everone just randomly planted their seeds wherever they went. I wonder if it would ever become so common that they had no choice but to legalize it. Like if your out smoking in the spring and you find a few seeds just stick your thumb in the mud and drop those suckers in there. Seriously if one third of the population admits to trying it I'm sure a decent amount do it regularly, we should just start guerrilla planting all over the country.

That would be really sick except the bud probably wouldnt turn out too good cause the male and female plants will mate and produce seeds instead of just bud so it wouldnt be good bud it would still be cool to see sensi stars all over the place tho. And that sounds like a sick Idea.

that right there is you deciding what's right for other people. Which in turn is you saying the government should regulate how healthy people are and decide that they arent allowed to do things unhealthy for them. That sounds ALOT like infringing on the freedoms of other people, which if you knew anything about the American government is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

I'm not saying legalize it and let everybody smoke spliffs whenever wherever, starting at whatever age they want. in my opinion there should be an age limit, and you getting carded etc. to buy, similar to alcohal, but when the brain is developed enough so that you gain some sense

http://youtube.com/watch?v=88REf0tjZHo

I suggest you watch this to get my point proven even more.

you can't force people to be healthy. thats what dictators do :)

You made it sound like people being irresponsible with a substance was a new problem that would be occurring. People will be irresponsible no matter what the drug is, whether it's cigs, weed or booze. It's just how it works, it comes with the territory.

they wont legalize it because they wont be able to tax it because it is so easy to grow the government wount have any control

the only reason i would want it to be legal is for it to become more accepted in society. i hate when people who get wasted all the time call me a pothead or just plain stupid for smoking. people consider it so low its ridiculous. i think somebody said this already but when has weed, other than personal health, effected anybody. i mean yea you get the occasional car accident, but its always a slow fender bender, never swerving into oncoming and killing a family of four like you see with alcohol. its just a chill drug, and why such a violent and addictive drug like alcohol is legal while pot is not is just beyond me....

more like 21. alcohol is just as dangerous as marijuana you know, not saying i don't indulge everyone once in a while on both, but its just not something to do every day and center your life on. if you do it, dont sit on the couch, go skiiing. thats what makes a bum. lazy stoners are why its illegal, weed will make you lazy, but if you make appropriate decisions and handle it responsibly, its not such a big deal. its illegalization will always stupify me.

i hate skiing high.... i always kinda forget im skiing, and like zone in on my music. park is totally out of the question when under the influence.

thats the only problem

is it even possible to partially impregnate a girl?

i would like to compare that quote to Anchorman. "60% of the time, it works everytime!" haha sorry just bustin ur ballz

you stated it by saying weed should never be legal. You put your own words in your own mouth, dont blame other people for your lack of communication skills

and as an added bonus:

the "I dont give two shits about whats constitutional and whats not"

is the thinking that is destroying our country via illegal wars, and economical crashes.

all i have to say is that your current pattern of thinking is flawed, and i suggest you pick up a book sometime.

thats not true at all you think all the DEA is after is Cannabis, not so much... think of all the Coc dealers out there, all the meth labs, all the smack deals... no way legalizing Cannabis will cause those people to lose jobs. Only people who are going to lose jobs are suburban dealers.

Leagalizing Marijuana doenst make every drug legal.
