did you know cannabis is americas #1 cash crop?

when i was little i had no clue... i was oblivious... but HOLY SHIT a LOT of people smoke herb! Including past presidents and potential candidates... (G.W. Bush, Clinton (I did not inhale...), Obama, etc. etc.)

I'm just wondering why it's still illegal. The fact that it is illegal makes it expensive, and profitable for dealers. So there must be politicians in their pockets. If it was legalized, it would be taxed but at least the government and hence the country would be making money rather than a few isolated people.

Plus, if it was legal, why wouldn't you go down to the grocery store to buy it like cigarettes rather than going to some shady house or back alley to buy.

I THOUGHT ABOUT THIS. THE REASON IS IT GETS SOLD SO MUCH MORE THAN ANY OTHER CROP. PERSON GORWS IT SELLS IT, THE SELL IT, THEY SELL IT, THEY SELL AND OUNCE, THEY SELL YOU A BAG. THE WEED GOES THROUGH SO MANEY BUYERS THAT IT ALL ADDS UP. SO THERE. MY 2 SENCTS

Not to mention...I've never heard of someone getting high and beating their wife. Or getting high and raping a girl.

And yet alcohol is consumed at incredibly high levels and problem after problem arises. I'll never understand it.

One of the only legitimit reasons is that unlike alcohol, cops can't prove when your driving under the influence. Clearly it's not that hard to drive when your ripped, but regardless you're still a worse driver then when your sober. I wouldnt really like it anyway if it was legalized because then it would be sold everywhere and just get all fake and fucked like tobacco has over years.

it's a cultural thing... this hate for pot. Anyway, it seems that whenever a government makes a drug illegal, there begins to have a lot of violence surrounding it's use/sale. Not because it makes people want to hurt each other, but because of it's illegality, people are less afraid to do something illegal in order to get it (aka murder). If the drug was easily accessible, taxed, and sold at your local grocery store then the violence and danger surrounding it would disappear.

how could u not like the legalization? you could grow it yourself if you didnt like the way big market growers produced it...

when im ripped and driving i slow down, become more cautious, and focus on driving. im a safer driver when i smoke.

i know many who say the same thing.

Just my opinion man. i'd like it if it was decriminalized (sp) so dick cops coundn't stick you with possession. I have fucking court for that in a week.

well I guess decriminalization is the first step. maybe thats as good as it will get in our lifetimes... but I know too many responsible adults who smoke weed for it to make any sense... i just dont get why it's still illegal.

I wouldn't say your a worse driver when your blized at all... maybe first time smokers but the only time I have ever got into an accident I hadnt smoked in 3 days. It's just common sense, if you are too blunted to walk you shouldn't be driving.

Of course it has a lot to do with perscription drug companies, a lot of them would loose money for cancer patients and other ailments if marijuana was legal.

IF you think about it there is no logical argument you can present against it. Want to keep little kids from getting high? Ok then make it legal... it is MUCH harder for underage kids to get alcholol than it is to get bud. Legalization would eliminate the black market (fuck there goes my gas money!), do you see people dealing bottles of goose? No. There are stores for that.

The general equation for the prohibition of anything is basically the same. It failed miserably with alcholol... there is no real difference besides alcholol having far more negitive effects on society. Imagine if beer was still illegal? There would be an increase in crime by 100000x .

The lawmakers know that weed is harmless... but they would rather keep the perscription drug companys happy.

The fact that ciggerettes are legal... and cannabis is not is completely absurd.

i love weed just as much as the next person, but i keep saying it will never be legal. heres a fun fact: close to 200,000 people would lose their jobs if weed was legal. think of all the people who would get out of jail, boom there goes half of the jail guards. dea could be cut in half too. judges, attorneys, DAs, and other law officers would all be left without jobs. but the main reason why it will never be legal is because it isn't in the best interest of big business.

unfortunately, that doesn't matter. when he sends that bill to congress, it will be veto'ed (sp) almost immediately...

At the rate the Fox is supporting Paul, he won't get elected so I'm sorry to Rezfredrik, K2Tanner, and Itmilo. Ron Paul is over. It won't happen not enough support.

people view marijunana as a socially dangerous drug, and to some extent it is when all the crime committed by main dealers and trafficers in taken into account. but, it is the very illegality of marijuana which perpetuates the crime. the same thing happened when alcohol was criminalized: crime began to revolve around it (such as the mafia and other organized crime, which killed many people). the only difference with marijuana is that it has never been legal in the US, so people dont understand the potential drop in crime.

if you think about it....our generation of minors who blaze...are going to be able to vote, sooner or later there are going to be more of us smokers then non smokers, and the legalization bill would pass...am i right?

we should have a NS pole made..."Should The United States Legalize Marijuana?"

ya... and 1,000,000 more jobs would be created through the hemp industry, medical & recreational cannabis cultivation, factories, fields, delivery, online, stores, restaurants...it goes on and on

^many people feel the same way, so there are theories that overall use could drop if legalized (for instance, a relatively small percentage of dutch residents smoke herb)

uhhhh. There are other drugs out there and havn't you noticed we imprison more than ANY other country in the world? It would free space for people who actually commit crimes.

i have no income exept for a few things i do. well i do a bit of lanscape but thats just enough to pay for some clothes

My 2 cents is that weed and other drugs should be legal so the government can make sales tax and stuff off of it and help to stop the flooding of our courts with people who really didn't do anything wrong. This country was founded on libertarian values meaning that as long as it wasn't hurting anyone else you could do pretty much whatever you wanted. Personally I don't care to do drugs because really I have better things to do. And most girls really aren't huge into smoking and if they are they're fuckin skanks.

yeah but if your stoned and driving it has slowed reaction time so theres a possibility you could be saying "hey...that semi truck sure is getting pretty close..." boom no more pothead.

i would love for trees to be legal but if it was the good ol govt. would make da weakest strains n tax like crazy so people buy a lot. if it were legal, id grow my own.

it is all about the trouble. if it was llegal then people wouldn't buy it because the people buying it would not get that badass/sneaky feeling when they do.

that wont work. Smoking pot= munchies, munchies = food injested, food injested = clearing the mouth out.

and once the pot smoking crews figure out about these strips, their dashboards are going to have an addition besides clear eyes and gum, LISTERINE!!!!

you must not smoke weed...

when you smoke weed you don't want to be sketchy, it makes you feel like a shitty person. What you want to do is enjoy a peaceful situation like listening to music, eatting a dinner with family or friends, or enjoying one of your favorite sports.

picking up and getting that sneaky/badass feeling isn't all its cracked up to be. its more like "lets get this over with so i can smoke the herb and not get arrested.

Pretty sure that one reason that weed is illegal is because it promotes unproductivity, if it was legal everyone would be braindead and lazy, all standards would lower. Though i would love for it to be legal and i deffinatly agree that its much more responsible thank many other drugs it will mostlikely never be legal in the US. even if our generation was in there, considering that back in the 70's and 80's (not sure when it was) when weed became big and all teens were doing it, when their generation got to office it was never legalized. i dont know how accurate this information is because it was from our health teacher who is trying to keep kids away from it, but thats what came out of his mouth. But there are so many positive sides to legalization and i wish that sometime while im alive it will become legal so its not such a sketchy buisness to get into and because its awsome.

Well first of all I don't think you realize the number of people that smoke. Successful people at that. Also, the majority of politicians are still the WWII generation or older than our parents.

no i do i know some very successful people that smoked and still do for instance one of the best lawers in our town, but thier lucky that they have the will power to not let them stop what thier good at, but many people get lazy and unproductive like when i started my grades plummeted a great amount resulting to me have to quit and now im struggling on getting them back.

very very true. and if it was legal, there would be much more schwag weed and much more potent weed i think, the loss of the middies i could see happening

sutpid comment....

marijuanna is a super small part of their profits....they wouldnt even feel it
