prom is this weekend for our school. i think our school is getting a like carried away with the whole "no drinking or drugs" on prom. theres posters and signs EVERYWHERE! on the announcements every morning they say some fact about it.

then they had i'm pretty sure the entire 6th grade write letters to make us think were role modles and posted them over the entire school! heres one of them

then theres just signs that they made everywhere that are quite comical at how bad they are. my favorite one is the first one.

my high school used throw totaled cars all over campus and have signs by them that said shit about drinking
 
my old school has theres on a thursday so "not as many people will drink" half the kids either were still drunk, hungover, or just didnt go to school the next day
 
yeah they did this mock crash thing at the fair grounds too.

and every time i pass the beer + you = death poster i bust out laughing and ppl look at me funny
 
There are posters in our school that say 86.7%. Some kid searched google and found a news article that said chinease auto imports up 86.7%. It really means how many kids who sign the prom promise and keep it. It was pretty funny though.
 
i heard about schools trying to have the younger kids guilt people into being good on prom night. i had no idea thats what happened haha.

at my school they just lock you in until 5am. by that time everyone is too tired to do anything... so we wait until the next night.
 
Bahahaha that sucks it seems like your school is trying to social engineer the little kids into thinking acohol is going to kill you

anyways in my final year at HS my whole class got on the pizzle together beforehand.. so many of us trying to walk straight when we got there. it was sweet though cause the school unoffically organised a drinking allowed afterparty. if anyone was getting too wasted they got them water n kept an eye on them
 
at my school, one of the teachers searched through all of the limos to look for beer cans and caught a lot of people and now they are all getting some sort of punishment
 
At our prom(which will be next year, i am in grade 11)it is "Safe grad" which is where the keep your locked in a building from 9pm till 6am so you can not drink or do any drugs.You also don't have the choice to leave halfway through.
 
yeah, it won't be bad, they get like 50 blow up things like boxing and such which will be a good time
 
yea that happened to us too, it didnt seem very effective, but no one died, but then again no one has died at my school on prom night to my knowledge
 
Yah we got those too. After our grand march the 6th graders passed out carnations to everyone, and they all had a little 'sweet' note on it, refering to being safe after prom.

Maybe they thought some people wouldn't listen to it if they just saw it once.

 
could you write out the note from the sixthgrader. i could only read the first sentence. and what fucking business does that kid have in your decision making. I say have a good time. that means if you want get drunk. don't let someone make decisions for you. do what you feel is right.
 
parents were super strict about not drinking. we just went to this kids house and right after we got in the limo, his dad poked his head in and was like, yo there is NO alcohol in my house. if i catch anyone, you're all getting kicked out. i drank a pint of grey goose to my dome and threw a few hours after we got there at midnight. it was sweet.

dear high school student,

i'm a sixth grader at OMS. Prom night is coming up so you should be safe and stay away from drugs and alcohol. all of us little kids care about your safety.

we want you to have fun but be safe. there will be plenty of things to do so don't waste your time smoking or drinking. you could dance or talk. drive safely before and after or if you're not driving make sure your ride is driving safely.

Its kinda sad that little kids havn't found the joys of underage drinking and are trying to tell us it is a waste of time. Just be smart and don't kill yourself, thats a good time.
 
a little over the top, but i still agree with the message. kids going out and drinking and shit is fucking stupid. if you're going to be an asshole and drink because you think it's cool, at least do it at home and don't drive, because then you put others in danger.

i'm sorry but i've just never understood why kids do the stuff. it's illegal, not healthy, and dangerous.
 
our prom is saturday and today there was a kid dressed as the grim reaper and he would come into random classes, call a kid's name, and the kid would go in the hallway, put a black tee shirt on that said "fatality" and put on white face paint. then they wouldnt talk the rest of the day (as if they were dead) and on the back of their shirts there are facts about death and runk driving.

pretty creative...but weird.
 
yeah....it was weird. i mean im all for fightig drunk driving, but im not gonig to drink and drive, so why do i have to sit in the class with these kids?
 
they put my prom on a thursday and last year a bunch of kids got in trouble on the way to prom, stopped limo and girls were throwing up already and one kid got kicked out at the actual prom, so they r making those kids give a talk to our whole grade
 
haha yeah, i remember when i was in 6th grade i had no idea why anyone would want to get drunk. Things sure change.
 
all our dances are on thursdays so nobody will drink. 28 people still got suspended for drinking at our semi

I went to my friend's grad this year, and it was a 'Safe Grad' as it is every year.

The amount of alcohol you were able to get from the bar was limited. You were only able to get a certain amount of drinks. Purses were checked sometimes for drugs, and guys were also checked out at times. There was a smoke train thing that you'd step out for no more than ten minutes, with parents basically 'surveying' you, for a smoke.

You also needed a note or whatever saying who was driving you back home.
 
ahahhaha we have things like that, the best are the guest speakers that come in. They dont come any more though because at every one the complete school breaks out in laughter, no joke. One in the beggening of the year was about this guy that talked about drinking and binge drinking for weeks and doing coke and shit and about his fried decided to climb up from the porch of a hotel to the top one for fun but fell and die and while he said it he put on dramatic music that matched the song hahahah it was so fucking funny, the worst are the guys with aids though. They're stories are always so funny like this one chick went to woodstock and doesnt remember any of it and about how she started selling speed in middleschool then we get to ask them questions and my friend said quote un quote

"how does it feel to screw your entire life over like that"

and she completly flipped shit and she almost fucking pounced on his ass, and that was the last time we got guest speakers.
