Tony hawk effect

"ya a ski game with an engine like amped 2s would be amazing. One of the things that would be amazing is if the game compensated for ping off rails. In amped 2 if you boardslide the rail to 270 out it says rail to 360.. Also a good trick description similar to tony hawhks but built for skiing would be nice. Also in clude the fact that popping and ollieing are different on skis and that each has its own advandtages and disa vantges. Also realistc speed phtsics would be nice aswell. So if you fall you cant clear a thirty footer. Landing flat off a big drop would make you falll and snow contions change. Landing in powder would be eaier than hardpack. In the sun the snow will be slower than in the shade and you have a stamina meter similar to tony hawks special mete. If you fall it goes down stomp tricks it goes up. it goes to zero your runs over. It would also go down slowly over time . Skiing switch would be hader and forwards easier. You coud use different skis too. Fujative would go fast and easiy to control in the park and in the air, but super slow in powder. Prohets are amzing in powder handling becomes perfect. but on hardpack they fall apart. downloadible content for new skis and equipment and graphics. Almost everything thing else like amped 2 but your on skis. If todays consoles/ computers (use Xbox as n example not ps3 or xbox 2 or anthin else just xbox. if this isnt doable tell me, cuase im just throwin ideas in to the mix"

You pretty much just described real-life skiing, and trust me, if they could pack real-life experiences into a game, people like me would be spending even more time on the internet instead of looking for a girlfriend...

What makes Tony Hawk games fun for me is the rediculousness of it... I usually do turn on realistic physics once i beat the game, but come on, you can't say that being able to ollie a medium sized 2-3 story house on a skateboard isn't even slightly entertaining...

Indeed

but you didnt read what this thread was aboutand you didnt get what i was saying. If everythingwas ridiculously huge first people wouldnt buy the game because it would suck hairy ass, the major point is that if you could go super huge it would take away from skiing itself and people will lose respect for skiing. And Id hate to say it but skiing doesnt haave alot of respect to lose. Snowboarders are viewed as the big buff cool jocks and were viewed as the lesser of the eople in the parks, even though thats rarely true.

Also it wouldnt be realistic beause teres no concequences for faceplanting an rail. And now that i think about it , falling when landing flat would be a bad thing. But I do completely endorse different conditions for differnet skis, fujatives bad in pow, prophets unbearable in the park. Now who agrrees that this would be a great game cause i sure as hell do!!!

the thing with the tony hawk games is taht although their really unrealistic with how high you go and stuff its nearly impossible to do a 900 without using the special. you can do 2 triple kickflips in a row but the 900 is hard to do.

anyways it would be nice to have a simulation mode. because sometimes I want to try to do realistic stuff and I ollie way too high which pisses me off.

and not being able to get out of a grind without jumping 4 feet would be nice like if your on a halfpipe you grind you cant just drop back in you have to ollie out of the grind and it doesnt look fluid

I hope that they dont make a skiing video game a la SSX because those get boring fast seing a guy take his snowboard off and kickflipping it or humping it or whatever.

^^^^ quad word... its a video game so who cares? do you see snowboarders throwing dope stuff in the park and say "oh i can go bigger in a video game, he sucks!"? i dont. i think it would be so sick to just have a ski video game thats somewhat realistic.

Jazz flutes are for little fairy boys

i think most kids can understand that doing a misty or any-other outlandish trick off small stairs or just in general is close to impossible to do. And 180ing a 7 stair is super sweet but, not pro.

Im not outta line your outta line the whole frikin system is outta line and when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo and find out its your best friends face, well guess what marge its chinatown.

if i see someone do a 180 over a 7 set im still gonna give them props. I don't skateboard, but i ride bmx occasionally with a friend that does, and i know how hard skateboarding is. As for the rest of the people that your speaking of, who cares

ive never played amped, but i think it would be important to have a progression meter. you could only learn certain tricks after a certain amount of time, and after learning all the basic tricks well. spins over 1260 would not be possible, and jumps should have a limit as to how much you can spin off them

If a tree falls in the forest and then springs back up as a joke, do the squirrels freak out?

MT CREW

^its like that in a sense. If your playing career you can only spin faster, ollie higher, and have more style and rail balance as you win comps and do other shit

It's a fucking video game. It's suposed to entertain dipshits, and entertainment in a videogame isn't trying to do a 270 on 270 off a rail roughly 20 times dipshit.

so fucking true...he is retardly insane

i agree with everyone about the who realisistic thing, but some pros think that the progression of the sport is goin in the direction of video games. a perfect example is Travis Rice's double cork 10 on chads.

The key to a FUN-BUT-NOT-RIDICULOUSLY-EXHAGERATED game is AMPED2.

It is perfectly balance with the style counter, maybe it could improve in some little dettails, but its almost perfect and we will be all totally addicted if it was a skiing game. (I've been even thought its snowboarding).

The main problem of THPS is incredibles grinds.
