Tonsillectomy.. how long til i can smoke bud?

so i just got a tonsillectomy... how long til i can get back to my beloved bud? this really blows cause i have a week off of classes and nothing really to do til next weekend when spirit mountain opens up here in duluth mn. any ideas, cause im thinking toking will not go well on my throat right now...
